Life Changing Circumstances (Semi-lit +)

What would you do if your life suddenly went from being confusing and relatively average to extrordinary?
Well, this is about to happen. You are one of the fabled demigods. A child who is born from a union between one of the fabled olympian gods and a mortal.

Life starts fairly average, you're in high school, a normal kid, with some problems. You have tons of issues reading english, mainly because you're not wired to read english, but ancient greek. Secondly, you start to notice strange abilites, nothing massive, just weird, the ability to make planets grow faster, or stay underwater for longer then normal. Then something bad happens, the gods, are angry, and you're smack dab in the middle of this impending war. For seventeen years of your life, you had no idea you were even a demigod, just a kid, an average teenager, and now suddenly you're sent to a camp to learn how to hone your abilites and join the war, from a different perspective. You and your fellow heros are trying to prevent the war.

*Only one person may be the son/daughter of Zeus, Hades or Posiden, so once they're claimed, no one else can have them as a parent. The other gods are all up for grabs, even those with someone.

Name: Keith Black
Age: 18 years old

Parent: Poseidon (God of the Sea)
Personality: Keith is outgoing and slightly random. He doesn't have a very long attention span, and often has a ton of energy. His mother is basically at her wits end with him, as he has ADHD as well as Dyslexia (Supposedly). He despises school, and often gets in trouble for skipping. He has always been a bit of a rebel, and tends to ignore rules that he sees as pointless. He is extremely active, and skate boards as well as snow boards. He loves swmiming and being near water, but has no idea why. He often breaks into the local pool after hours just to spend time in the water. He tends to stress easily, particularly over school work, and in his frusturation often does something he will later regret.
Abilities: He can manipulate water, spend an abnormal amount of time underwater, and when injured, water can heal him. He also cannot go a prolonged time without some form of contact with liquid, and becomes extremely ill if he does. Manipulating water includes all water, does not matter the size, and he can often 'grow' small droplets to suit his need.

Personality: Sara is extremely bright, she is also shy and some what withdrawn. She doesn't talk much, and though she is pretty, and often flirted with, she shys away from attention. She hates being put on the spot, but she is a quick thinker and can often get herself, and friends out of hazerdous situations. Like all 'children of the gods' she is a fantastic fighter, and is highly skilled with a sword, though she doesn't know this yet. She, like most other demi-gods has many issues in school, but she tries not to let it get to her. Her best and only friend is Keith Black, whom she spends most of her time with. He is, in a sense, like a big brother to her.
Abilities: She is an expert at manipulation, and can control people with certain words. She can also heal herself, like most demi-gods, but only under certain circumstances. She can manipulate light, using it in offensive or defensive ways, and is able to 'bend' light, and thus make herself invisible.

“Arianna! Wake up! You’re going to be late!”
Crap…what time was it? A quick glance at the digital clock on the wooden bedside table quickly confirmed her mother’s threat.
“Oh, damn.” Tossing the blankets off, Arianna ran into the bathroom. She quickly washed up, pulled her uncombed wavy, light brown hair up into a clip, and hastily tossed on the clothes she had laid out last night. Ripped and torn light blue jeans, a form-fitting white tank top, and a denim jacket over that. Pulling on her worn sneakers, Arianna quickly grabbed her messenger bag before running out of her room.

She was downstairs the next instant, grabbing a piece of toast from the breakfast plate her mother had left out. “Can I take the car?” she asked, mouth full of bread.
“If you can find the keys.” Her mother said, looking away quickly so that Arianna didn’t see the sly glint in her eyes. Arianna groaned; she didn’t have time for hunting. She’d just have to run the few blocks then. A small bulge in her mother’s pocket, gave Arianna an idea.
“Fine, I’ll walk. Bye mom.” Arianna said, her mouth still full. Giving her mother a quick hug, Ari slid her hand into the woman’s front pocket, pulling the keys out with her.
“Bye Ari, have a good day.” Her mother called, not noticing the contents of her pocket were now missing. Arianna smirked, turning around quickly to hide her prize. She waved a hand as she left the door, jingling the keys on her finger, hearing her mother curse as she closed the door.

That was pretty much the average day for Arianna. She slid into the front seat of her mothers’ four-door Honda. She drove expertly for a seventeen year old having just gained her license. Seeing an electronic screen just down the street, and a line of traffic, Ari cursed again and squinted, attempting to read what the screen said. The letters floated off the screen in bright neon orange, rearranging themselves and never giving her the full message. This was typical; her dyslexia was getting worse, even if her mother wouldn’t believe her. Ari was an extremely active and hyper child-it didn’t help that she had been diagnosed with ADHD either- and her mother blamed Ari’s pleas of dyslexia on her ADHD and her lack of ambition when it came to English.

Figuring out that there had been an accident by the loads of traffic, Arianna quickly turned the car onto a side street, taking a longer route to the school than was necessary since she couldn’t read the detour signs either. Pulling up to her parking space, Arianna quickly ran from the car. She had little to no time to get to homeroom; otherwise she would be late-again.
Much to her surprise, Ari made it. She frowned, hearing the bell ring just as she sat down. It was a solid five minutes from the parking lot to her homeroom and she had cleared it that fast? She grinned to herself. She didn’t even feel winded; she’d have to tell coach that one later. With that good time, she was sure to make the girls track team in the fall.

I was also debating on having her being able to hear something once, and then shoot it back out word for word but I thought that might have been a bit much xD}}

"Keith, wake up" A loud voice sounded on the other end of the eighteen year old's oak door. "Keith!" Groaning, Keith Black rolled over in bed, shaking his head.
"I'm up" The tall, dark haired teenager bellowed at the door. God he hated his life, hated his family.
"Finally" His mother snapped, odviously annoyed. Keith sighed, dragging his lanky frame from his bed, and slipped on a semi-clean pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. He grabbed his leather jacket off of his never used desk chair and slung it over his shoulder. Sighing, he looked at the posters on his wall, most of them had writing, though, he still couldn't read it. He rubbed a hand over his eyes as the letters danced, making him feel even worse.

Stepping into the hall, the tall teenager was careful to shut his bedroom door, the house was a mess, but that was normal. His step-dad, the only person who he actually liked, was probably at work. Bottles littered the ground, his mom wasn't exactly the 'perfect' parent, but he ahd adjusted. Grabbing his beat up back pack, he slipped out the door before he actually had to speak with her. Glancing down the street, he began to walk towards the school, having nothing better to do today. He was always late, that was normal, teachers had given up calling home, and he was perpetually in detention.

Sara Lancaster walked down the hall of the school, unlike her best friend Keith, she was always early, and her home life was relatively normal. She sighed, the petite brunette was wearing her favorite arfully shredded jeans and a light green tank top, that matched her eyes. Over top she had a black jacket, which fit her perfectly. In her ears were iPod headphones, and Second Chance by Shinedown was playing, rather quietly. She glanced over her shoulder, frowning at the group of guys trailing along behind her. She had no idea why, but this had been happening more and more frequently lately. She flicked her hair, pausing at her locker to slip her stuff inside, still ignoring her 'entrourage'.

Glancing up, she saw a sign on the wall, it was new, but sadly, she couldn't understand a word of it. Sighing, she ran her hands over her face, trying to force her eyes to understand. Of course, she couldn't. The bell sounded loudly above her head and she cursed, English was her first class of the day, and she always felt beyond inadequet in that class. Grabbing her book, she walked, slowly, as if condemed, down the hall, trying to think of ways to avoid getting called on.
