Kristen merely nodded. She wasn't exactly sure what to say. It made some sense now, why he flipped out when Lisa came into the room. "Alright." she finally managed before following Demitri out of the room.

Alayna frowned. "Then how come I wasn't bothered yesterday?" she asked. Thinking back on it, she had only really had a headache when Donny had showed up...

Demitri slipped into his room, and turned, closing the door behind him and carefully sliding his shirt off.
"Turn on the light" He instructed her softly. He stood on the other side of the room, knowing only the light would show the scars. Vampire scars were almost impossible to see, unless of course you were another vampire. He glanced at Kristen, wondering if she was alright with this.

Keith shrugged, "I guess because we were outside mainly. The magic isn't as contained" He said, that was the only explanation he could think of. Sitting down on his bed, he sat, cross legged, wondering if she wanted to do this.

Kristen took a deep breath, feeling the same anxiety from the previous night as she flicked the lights off. Demitri's back was bare, and for a moment only pale. She took a step closer, letting her eyes sharpen. Kristen covered her mouth, holding back a gasp of pain. Now she could see the scars. "Oh my..." Kristen breathed, fighting back the lump in her throat. "Demitri..." she quickly regained herself, angery swirling within her. "Who did this to you?" she asked sharply, passing her hand over his skin lightly before pulling her hand away quickly.


Alayna nodded. That make sense. "So...how do I make it so that I don't get a headache?" she asked curiously.

"Werewolf pack back home" Demitri said softly, wincing a bit as she touched him, mainly due to the fact that he wasn't used to being touched.
"Happened a few summers ago, when I didn't come back until halfway through the first semester" He reminded her, pulling his shirt back on and flopping down on his bed.
"Please don't tell anyone" He murmured, shaking his head a bit. He couldn't handle if the werewolves, or anyone knew.

"Well first you have to strengthen your ability, practice with it, until you get enough control to actually physically control it. You know, turn it on and off"

Kristen threw a fist at the wall. "I knew there was something wrong." she cursed. "I swear, if I ever get my hands on them..." Kristen turned away from Demitri for a moment, rubbing her face. Looking back at Demitri, she forced a smile. "I won't tell anyone." she promised.


Alayna chuckled. She tossed her head to the side, blowing away a strand of hair. "And...how am I supposed to do that?" she wondered. "It's not really an ability is it? It's more like...another sense....?" she frowned. "Does that even make sense?"

"Thanks" Demitri said, stretching out on his bed.
"Keith knows, but only cause he saw Sven and Valdimir talking to me about it" He explained to her, so that she wasn't forced to lie to the fallen angel.
"They're dead" He told her softly, his coven had seen to that.

"Well you have to work on it. You know how you can identify tastes and smells? Well that's what you have to do with magic, you have to learn to identify what kind it is, slowly as you master control of your 'sense' the more managable it will be" He explained to her.

Kristen fell to Alayna's bed. The anger was gone from her now. She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "Alright." she said with a nod, as if to assure herself of that fact. Everything was alright.

The girl nodded as she listened. "Sounds easy enough." she said, sitting up straight against the wall. "What kidns of magic are there?" she asked.

Demitri sighed, "Yea, my family wasn't to happy..." He murmured, smiling at her. She had never met Vlad and Sven, but they were intense and very, very protective of him. He smiled at her, "You should meet them one day" He said, grinning at her.

"There's elemental magic, such as earth, wind, air, water, fire, light and darkness. There are also demonic magics, which tend to be dark and stuff. I only have light, or angelic magic, but it's a start" He explained to her, smiling.
"I'll start small, summoning small energy balls, miniscule and we'll practice on getting control"

"I'm not too happy.." Kristen muttered, folding her arms over her chest. "And I'm even your family..technically." She sighed, rubbing her face again. "Yea. Maybe I should." she muttered with a smirk.

"Elemental magic, right I know of that." she said, nodding. Alayna shifted nervously. "Alright...what exactly should I do then?" she wondered with a pathetic smile.

"Why not?" Demitri asked her, confused and curiuos.
"Of course your family. I just mean my vampiric family, you know, my creator as well as the coven" He explained, grinning at her and stretching out. Hopefully Kristen would explain what she was thinking, as sometime it was hard to read her.

Keith smiled, "Alright, shut your eyes. I'm going to summon a very, very small energy ball, and send it somewhere in the room. I want you to try and sense it" He murmured. Waiting for her to agree or suggest something different.

"I did say technically." Kristen muttered with a small laugh. "Yea..." she muttered, closing her eyes against the image of Demitri's scars. She rubbed her eyes for a moment before opening them again and looking at him. "You and Keith are my family, you know." she said quietly before letting her eyes fall to her hands once more.


Alayna took a deep breath, closing her eyes. "I'll try." she whispered quietly. She took a few more breaths to calm herself down, nearly putting herself to sleep as she waited for Keith to do as he said.

"I know, you and Keith are more so my family then those guys back home" He said to her, glancing and smiling. He knew that she was fairly upset by something.
"Are you alright?' He asked her, starting to regret letting her see the scars. He was a bit worried now.

Keith let herself relaxe and he sighed, concentrating and letting himself slip into the mindset he needed to be in. Taking a small breath he formed the energy ball, about the size of a tear drop. Carefully he sent the ball towards the center of the room, waiting to see her reaction.

"Yes. I'm alright." Kristen whispered. "I just..." she shrugged, letting her hands fall back into her lap. "Ya know...worried about you then..." she chuckled nervously. "I guess we've all had our share of good and bad with humans and others." she said quietly.


Alayna sighed. For a while, her head felt fuzzy. Like she was in an airplane, and the altitude was changing. She cringed slightly, and then frowned. "It's not that close..." she muttered, more to herself than Keith. "But it's not by the window..." she whispered, wincing again. "It's in the middle?" she finally asked, opening her eyes slightly to look at Keith

Demitri sighed, "Why are you worried about me?" He asked her, slightly confused. He wasn't used to Kristen worrying about him, or even the others. He was used to doing the worrying, it was more his style.

Keith watched her, and broke into a wide grin.
"Yupp" He said, nodding at the small, tear dropped ball that hovered about halfway off the floor in the middle of the room.
"How does your head feel?" He asked, not wanting to make her ill with an overdose of magic or something.

"I was then." Kristen said. "You were gone for so long." she explained, resting her arm on a raised knee now. "I won't anymore if it bothers you." she said, a smirk on her face as she looked back at Demitri, her eyes taunting him slightly.


"Like I'm in a cabin airplane and my ears need to pop..." Alayna said swiftly. She rubbed her forehead slightly. "Other than that, I'm fine really..." she said, opening her eyes to look at the Fallen Angel.

Demitri shrugged.
"Sorry if I scared you, I guess you can worry, but not a lot" He teased her. That time in his life hadn't been particularly good. He had almost died, and hadn't been able to return cause he was so weak. Just the memories of that time made his muscles ache and the scars on his body practically burn.

"That's good" He said, grinning. "Alright, would you like to try with a bit more magic?" He asked her, not wanting to pressure her or anything. He stretched out on the bed, vanishing the small ball for the time being.

"I'll do my best." She muttered, tapping her knee thoughtfully. "So what should we do now?" she asked, pulling her cellphone from her pocket. It was a little after 2pm now. Kristen felt out a long breath.

Alayna rubbed her temple. "Not too much more. I was sorta guessing on that one." she mumbled. "Maybe the same amount just someplace else?" she wondered, looking over Keith's wings before pulling her eyes away.

Demitri shrugged.
"We can do whatever. I'm good for anything, provided it doesn't involve werewolves" He muttered, although it was light, teasing. He glanced at Kristen, and sat up. Moving over to her, he tossed an arm around her shoulder.
"Are you sure you're alright?" He asked, he knew, could tell she was hiding something.

Keith nodded, "Alright" He said, closing his eyes for a moment, opening them, he kept the ball balanced in his hand, until she had closed her eyes.

Kristen sighed, leaning against Demitri slightly. Her tongue passed over her lips for a moment as she took in a deep breath. "Yea. Just...a rough summer...is all." She muttered, blinking away the flashbacks.


Alayna smiled lightly before closing her eyes once more. She took a deep breath again and tried to slip into the mind set that she was before. Slowly, she started to see the small amount of energy Keith had summoned up. She smiled, keeping her eyes closed and breathing deeply.

Demitri sighed and rubbed her back.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asked her, he was worried and curious, which was hard for him. He knew if she shared, he would have to share his own story, but that was alright with him.
"Story for a story?" He said, knowing full well she was just as curious, if not more so then him.

Keith sent the ball into the washroom this time, much further away from before. Carefully he forced the ball into the shower, making sure that it was slightly obscured.

Kristen sighed. "I can't really...explain it..." she whispered. "Here..just..look." she said quietly, shifting into her hawk form. The bird looked up at Demitri for a moment before lifting up it's right wing. Underneath, the feathers were gone. There were no scars; the wound was still healing, but the area was scracthed and torn, almost as if someone had tried to take a bite out the wing.

Slowly, Kristen lowered her wing and shifted back. "Weird thing is, it happened while I was a hawk, and you can hardly see anything with me like this." She lifted up her shirt just enough for Demitri to see the scrapes and scracthes. "Parent's didn't think it was anything major...I had gotten into a couple scraps over the summer, and they....just couldn't wait to send me back to school." Kristen muttered, looking down at the bed sheets.


Alayna frown deepened as she took a deep breath. It was as if the energy ball had disappeared. Her headache was starting to come back, but she firgure it was from the strain in trying to find the energy ball. Forcing herself to take another deep breath, Alayna shook her head. It was gone. "I can't find it..." she muttered.

Demitri sucked in a breath, he grazed his finger tips over the scratches and brusies, a sad expression on his face.
"What did this to you?" He asked, he didn't recognize the bite marks or anything, but that didn't mean he didn't know what it was.
"Parents" He snorted, and wrapped his arms around her protectively. He felt insanely protective of her right now, and didn't want to let her go. Vampires were like that with family, you protected the ones you loved, regardless of the danger to yourself.

"Alright" Keith murmured, vanishing the ball and smiling.
"It was in the shower" He explained, he knew that the distance had masked the ball, and this he knew information like this was helping him get to know the extent of her abilities.

Kristen took a deep breath as Demitri wrapped his arm around her again. "You know...this had been the first summer I had wanted to go back. Hadn't been there in a while. Turns out, there were two other shifters that lived in the neighborhood now. One could turn in an eagle, the other...I'm not sure. Maybe a mockingbird...something small." Kristen frowned as she recalled the accident, bits and pieces of the memory flashing in her minds eyes.

"I sent out one night, just to get some fresh air...I was restless..." Kristen rubbed her lips again, attempting to sort through the flashes. "Usually..when I'm attacked in a different form, my body changes back to me...like instantelousy. This time it wasn't the case. The eagle...he was big, and bulky...I was too fast for him. The little one got me..." Kristen's frown deepened. "I don't remember what happened then...I black out...something..." She sighed, shaking her head. "When I woke up I was lying in an alley, still as a hawk, bleeding like there was no tomorrow. I managed to turn back, and the wounds were so bad. I had the scracthes and that was it."

"The next morning everything hit me at once. The pain, the brusies, the soreness, the aches...my dad noticed, I know he did." Kristen face grew hard and cold. "He didn't ask anything. Just stared at me, and shook his head...went back to reading the paper...No one else noticed." Kristen rubbed her stinging eyes. "Word got out after that fight. Someone had seen me change in the alley, never did find out who. But..." Kristen took a deep breath. "I was reminded of why I come here, and stay here all year...the hard way..."



"Ow.." Alayan whispered, holding her head as it throbbed. "The shower?" she asked with a slightl chuckle, letting her body fall onto Kristen's pillow. She lay that way for a moment or to, before opening her eyes and turning to look at Keith. "Can all angel's do that?" she asked. "Create balls of light?"

Demitri sucked in another breath, his arms tightening around her. "I don't remember what it's like to have parents, but it seems to me your family should care about you. regardless of what you are, or who" He murmured holding her close. He felt an urge to go back to her neighbourhood and
'talk' to her parents and perhaps find those shifters.

"So I guess you wanna hear what happened to me now?" He asked her softly, he figured it was only fair, plus it might take her mind off of what had happened to her.
"I'm sorry that happened to you, you can come to Russia with me next summer, if you want? I was thinking of going back this christmas, I can get you a ticket if you want?" He asked her curiously. The others wouldn't mind, he knew that.

"Yes" Keith responded, smiling.
"Angels have all sorts of abilites. I'd show you more, but you might get sick or something" Keith said, smiling a bit. He sighed and flexed his wings, wincing a bit as he did so.

"No...my mother died giving birth to me...and I found out my father was once very religious. So I wasn't exactly what my father had in mind for a prized child..." Kristen muttered, somewhat coldly. She was suddenly thankful to the strong arm around her shoulders. It kept her rooted to the present instead of wandering around in past memories. She looked up at Demitri with a light smile.

"Nah. You don't have to tell me. Though....I may take you up on that Christmas invitation.." she said with a smirk. She hadn't celebrated anything for christmas aside from the few parties students threw once in a while.


"I won't get sick sick." Alayna said, rubbing her forehead. "I'll just have a really bad headache and have to sleep for the rest of the day." She smiled, turning to look at him in time to see him move his wings and wince. She sat up slowly, propping herself on her elbow. "Kristen said you might not heal until Christmas...longer if you hurt it again before that..." she whispered quietly, guilt nabbing at her again.
