One x One with: Blacksoal

Shaye heard a sudden roaring in her ears. The words 'not living anymore- echoing loudly in her mind. She couldn't understand, why, how had this happened. She bit her lip, trying to keep from crying. She didn't want this, she never had. She glanced away from them, focusing her attention on her now pale hands. Oddly enough the only other thought that crossed her mind was 'all that tanning for nothing'. She looked up at Vaix, "I'm not mad at Keith, or you, you guys couldn't have done anything" She said suddenly, before leaning forward and burying her face in his shoulder.

Keith stood rooted to the spot. He wanted to hug her or hold her, but he doubted that she would allow that at the moment. She still looked so vragile. He sighed and sat down in a leather chair at the end of the couch.

Vaix blinked when he felt her face hid in his shoulder. He sighed and let his hand rub her back in attempts to calm her. "Well, at least you came back. Me and Keith were so worried you wouldn't, and being a vampire isn't all bad right? It's sorta fun. So you might even like it more than being mortal..." He had a feeling his words weren't going to help her get over this. Vaix gave another sigh and looked up at Keith, his friend seemed to be in even more fear and pain than Shaye. Most likely because of the guilt he no doubt felt right now. Vaix lay his head down on the arm of the couch, letting Shaye gather the comfert she so desparetly needed right now.

Shaye couldn't bring herself to move. One part of her mind was ecstatic that she was this close to Vaix, but more of her was freaking out. She knew she would adjust, she always had, but this was a lot to take in, and so soon. She shuddered again, noticing the enticing scent that clung to his shirt. She inhaled slightly, odd emotions stirring inside her. She knew she had always liked Vaix, but this was different, it felt right for her to be here. So right.

Keith couldn't watch. He listened to his friend comfort Shaye, but he himself had no idea what to do. He buried his face in his hands, trying to blot out the horror of what he had done.

Vaix sighed as he watched Keith. It should be his friend who held Shaye in comfert, not Vaix. It looked like he really needed it too. Vaix looked down at Shaye, still hidden up against his shirt. He felt her shudder and blinked, running his fingers through her hair. "Shaye," he whispered gently in her ear, "Keith needs you."

Vaix watched her go over to Keith, and in seeing her 'brother's' reaction, he knew he'd done the right thing by sending her over there. Vaix sat up straight, his back made numerous clicking sounds as he did, and observed them. Keith was still in obvious emotional pain, and Shaye was still in denile about the whole thing. So am I the only one without a strong reaction? Vaix wasn't in denile, he wasn't in extreme depression either. He wasn't happy, but at the same time he wasn't sad or angry. It seemed more like at ease with the whole thing. It was a terrible realization, but it was true. Shaye lived with a vampire, it was only natural that there would be a fatial slip at some time along the road. He gave a sigh, unsure if he sould hate himself for feeling this way about Shaye's 'death.'

Vaix watched them and tilted his head to one side when Keith nudged her toward him. He just gave her a smile in seeing that she seemed better now than before.

"I need to go hunt, I'll be back soon" Keith said, still tasting Shaye's blood in his mouth and desperatly wanting to rid himself of the taste.

Shaye nodded, she felt no urge to hunt, but she figured her body was still adjusting to this new life. She sat down on the couch next Vaix wondering what he was smiling at. Shrugging she pulled her hair back, running her fingers through the many knots that had originated during the day.

Vaix gave a nod to Keith and watched him leave. He stared at the floor for a second then looked back at Shaye. "Do you like being a vampire?" He asked suddenly, it was a stupid question, she'd only been a vampire for about four minutes now. But he was still curious about it.

Shaye watched Keith leave, then turned to look at Vaix.
"I dunno" She replied shrugging, "It will take some getting used to" She said softly, brushing a hair from her face, where it had caught on her lip.
"Thank you" She whispered suddenly

Keith left the house, walking out into the darkening sky, a miserable expression on his face. At least she was alright, but he could have killed her.

"Thank you?" Vaix repeated to her with a confused expression. "What did I do that deserves thanks?" He couldn't help but give a smile at being praised like that, even though he had no clue what she was talking about.

"Oh," Vaix blinked. Keith had been there too, it wasn't really that big of a deal that he'd been there. Or maybe it was, he'd gotten to see her in her final moments of really being alive, as horrible as they might have been. He had been there, and held her as she died to join a new eternal life. "You're....You're welcome," He wasn't sure if that was the type of thank you that got a your welcome in return for being given. Vaix just gave a smile.

Vaix stood up and walked over, "well no. You chaged your hair colour, and typically the mirror makes everything backwards." He smiled, "but otherwords yeah, it is you." He placed a hand on her shoulder, "like it?"

Vaix smiled, "there's no comparision for you. But trust me, you look perfect." All vampires do, weither they want to or not... He added silently. He didn't dare add it out loud, because that would kill the compliment. Vaix smiled, "now that you're a vampire, you'll never get tired. Remember how tired you'd get when you made large changes in your shifting? I'm not quite sure...but you probably won't tire yourself with that anymore."

Vaix stared back at her when she looked over at him with what seemed to be a judging look. He chuckled, "what? Now that your a vampire I don't seem all that hansome anymore do I?" He side-stepped so that he was standing behind her, his head lay on her shoulder as he peered into the mirror as well. Observing his reflection, then Shaye's. "There's a boy at school," he started, "that knows what I am. He tried to prove to the entire class that I was undead by holding a mirror to my face, expecting I would have no reflection. Poor kid, everyone laughed."

"Did you change into a wolf or something?" He smiled at her reflection, talking to her through he mirror. "That's rather harsh though, you could have gotten hurt, silver or no silver, it's still a bullet." He frowned, the kids attempts at school were starting to get more and more violent. Mirrors to garlic to crosses, it was only a matter of time before he struck correct.

"Fire and churches," Vaix stated. "That's it. The rest of it you'll just heal quickly afterwards." He gave a smile. "Churches themselves aren't the problem though, it's the faith of the people there that makes them dangerous. They always seem to be able to tell human from vampire as well. So be careful if you go near them."
