Tales of the Paddding Paws

Cade smiled and started swimming away from the shore. "Come on, Alex!"

She rolled her eyes and began to swim right after him.

"Betcha I can swim faster!"

"Hey! Hey! Because you're a werewolf and I'm still human!"

"I'm still in human form, Alex.", Cade said, laughing.

"Are you sure?" she asked laughing quietly.

"If I was in my werewolf form, I'd be stinking like a wet dog. And I can look at my arms and see as plain as day that I'm in human form."

"Okay, okay." she giggled, "True, true though. If you go beastly you are big and hairy."

Cade smiled at her. "So, wanna do a little swimming race?"

"Seriously?" Alex laughed, "Since we swam from all the way over there, my arms hurt right now."

Cade smiled and lauhed. "Fine, no swimming race today."

"Thank you!" Alex cheered throwing her arms in the air,

Cade smiled. "I'm starting to think you don't want to race me."

"No really I'm tired, if you give me a bit to rest we can." Alex whined.

"Ok."

"So why did you want to go further out from the shore anyway?" she asked.

"Cause I like dolphins.", Cade said ,motining towards the playful mammals swimming over to them.

Alex turned to see them and she smiled, "Almost reminds me of a trip when I was thirteen my family and I went to Hawaii for my birthday. The greatest time I had."

"Even beeter than the time you spend with me?"

She turned to him raising an eyebrow but Alex shook her head laughing, "Hm...dunno hard to say." she said rubbing her chin while smiling.

Cade laughed, and msiled.

"Were you expecting a yes anyway?"

"No."

Alex looked at Cade for a bit with her dark brown eyes then she tied up her hair into a ponytail and spoke, "What if the both of us take a walk along the beach later on? Just the two of us like old times."

"I'd like that...", Cade said.
