This Mask is Not Me

"No, it's kind of nice actually" Lana said, glaring at Shaye.
"Well it sounds like you have way more trouble then her" She said, narrowing her eyes at Shaye.
"I mean you have to take care of your younger siblings" She said, she was trying to make Shaye look bad in front of Vaix in the vain hope he'd dump Shaye for her.
Chris rolled his eyes a bit, but smiled at Shaye.
"Oh, well that's cool I guess" He said, shaking his head.

Vaix gave a laugh, "oh believe me. My brother looks after himself. I just can't seem to be rid of him no matter how hard I try..." He gave a frustrated sigh, "attempt after attempt with still no results..." He shrugged again and looked over at Shaye, "don't judge Shaye for that. She's the younger sibling that needs looking after anyways..." He kissed Shaye's cheek affectionately.

"Looking after?" Shaye sputtered, turning and laughing at her boyfriend. She rolled her eyes and splashed water at him, soaking him and dodging away. She sighed,
"Just to clarify I do not need taking after" She mumbled, rolling her eyes again at her boyfriend.
Chris laughed, "Oh, over protective older brother?" He asked Shaye, smiling at her.
"Oh, no not at all" She said, smiling. "Keith is awesome" She said, laughing a bit.
"Well still, I think you have it harder" Lana said, brushing water from her eyes, as some of the water that Shaye had splashed at Vaix had hit her.

Vaix sat still in surprise, water dripping down from his face and hair. He whipped water from his eyes and looked over at Shaye with a sly looking smile. "Of course not, silly me," he gave a chuckle, though not in a sarcastic way, and shook his head. "You're just super independent right Shaye?" he added back to her response, then looked over at Lana when she stoke to her earlier comment. He sighed and gave a passive shrug, "have it your way then..."

Lana crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at Shaye. "Oh cool" Chris said, smiling at Shaye before turning and glaring at his twin.
Shaye laughed, "Don't you know it" She teased her boyfriend, before climbing into his lap so that she was now sitting on him. She rested her head against his chest and smiling at him.
"Is this okay?" She whispered, grinning at him.

"Of course it's okay," Vaix whispered back with a content smile. He wrapped his arms around her lovingly watching Chris again with a look that almost dared Chris to do something about the bond the two vampires had. He uttered another content sigh and rocked from side to side briefly with her. Now eyeing Lana, hoping he wasn't hurting her, he hadn't meant to rub things in her face.

Lana muttered something under her breath, but plastered a smile on her face.
She sighed and looked at her brother. He was odviously enamoured with Shaye.
Shaye grinned and leaned her head against his shoulder, letting his rocking move her as well.

Vaix tilted his head slightly as Lana's smile, but continued his gentle sway, kissing Shaye's cheek lightly and laying his head on her's. He smiled contently, even if the hot tube was filled with strangers he barely knew, knowing they were human made him very passive about how angry or frustrated they got with their love issues.

"Well thanks again" Chris said, alterntating between staring and Shaye and glaring at Vaix.
"Yea, we really appreciate this" Lana said, brushing her hand against Vaix arm for a moment.
Shaye sighed and grinned at Chris.
"It's no problem, we couldn't let you guys freeze" She murmured, nearly falling asleep against Vaix.

Vaix blinked, getting a chill at the human's touch. He was fine hungry wise, but that wasn't to say he was fine with being so close to prey. He looked at Lana like she was a meal for a second, then blinked and glanced down at the bubbling water. It was like a rabbit teasing a caged fox, eventually it would all go terribly wrong for the poor little bunny.

Shaye felt Vaix stiffen and turned to glance at him, rising an eyebrow in question. Lana blinked at the expression on Vaix's face. Sighing she turned her attention back to the two humans, a familiar hunger clawing at her throat.
"You know, I think I've had enough of hot tubing, I'll see you guys later' She said, quickly standing up and rushing for the door.
"Uh..." Chris watched her go, while Lana looked on hopefully.

Vaix watched her go with a sympathetic frown, he let out a slow breath of air and looked back at Lana and Chris. "She has a hard time with meeting others..." it was a terrible terrible lie, telling no truth what-so-ever, but it was all he could think of to describe Shaye's actions in a way for the humans to understand right now. He gave a soft shrug and twirled rings in the pool water casually, wondering if he should go after her. Then finding it better to stay with the new comers.

"Oh" Lana said, "Well that's silly" She rolled her eyes a bit, mocking Shaye's behaviour with her own facial expressions. Chris sighed and slumped back in the water, his eyes staring into the bubbling depths.
"Well how long have you guys been dating?" He asked, he deliberately avoided saying anything else, not wanting to hear it. He knew they were together, but if it was a fresh relationship he may have a chance to break them up. Lana smiled at her twin, knowing what he was doing and appreciating him greatly for it.
"Yea? I mean it cant be that serious?' She said, her hand still rested on Vaix's arm.

Vaix blinked, staring at Lana for a second, then back at Chris. "Gee, I'm not sure exactly.... A couple weeks now. Four at most..." He gave a passive shrug, "mind you, I really don't have a good sense of time anymore. It could have been far longer..." The heat from Lana's hand was making him chill, especially with the whole being a vampire thing and having a natural instinct to hunt her. He forced himself away from the urge.

"How could you not know?" Chris asked incredulously. If he was going out with someone like Shaye he'd remember every second of everyday.
"Yea, I mean don't you generally remember stuff like that, epsecially if the person matters to you?" Lana added, this of course was good news to her.

Shaye stretched out on the bed. Her hunger was worse, and in desperation she had bitten her wrist, which didn't really help, but at least it made her mind think she was feeding. She sighed at her rather Iggy-like behavior and continued to gnaw pointlessly at her wrist.

"Well, it depends." Vaix replied with a casual shrug, "it's because I love her so much that I don't know. Small things like that don't seem to matter anymore, that's the past, this is the future. As long as she's at my side I don't care how long it's been. I care about how long it will be, so instead of concerning myself over how long I've been with her, I enjoy every minute I am today. Understand?" He looked at Lana and Chris curiously, knowing they were making a small attempt to push him away from Shaye. Of course, they were just wasting energy doing it anyways.

Chris just shook his head.
"How did you guys end up together anyway? You seem so different?" He was becoming genuinly curious. He still wanted Shaye, but he also respected the relationship the two had, especially if it was as strong as it looked.
Lana pouted, shaking her head a bit.
"Seems weird" Was all she said, before letting her hand slip away from Vaix's.

Shaye lay on her bed, her wrists torn to bits, but her hunger sated, for now. She sighed, "He's gonna kill me" She mumbled, smiling to herself. Vaix and Roxa hated when Iggy tore at his wrists, so she had an idea of how Vaix would relaxe when he realized she had done the same. Pale blood ran in small rivlets from her wrists to land in small puddles on the floor.
"Oh.." She gasped, a thought striking her. Her blood, it was silver, which meant that now the humans definately couldn't see her.

Vaix went quiet for a second, as if he were thinking. Then smiled and gave a weak laugh. "It's a pretty stereo typical get together if you ask me. So normal it seems fake. Me and Shaye were friends before we got together the way we are now. Something happened, that threatened Shaye's life, and she came clean on her feelings towards me. Of course I felt the same, but I didn't exactly have the necessary courage to speak up on it. But after that we've been together." He gave another soft laugh, shaking his head with a soft smile.

"Threaten her life?" Chris asked, concerened. She hadn't seemed like someone who had had a near death experience, she was way to upbeat and hyper for that.
"Weird" He murmured, "I need to use the washroom" He said ubruptlly, standing up and walking inside. The door to Shaye's room was half open, and he poked his head inside.
"What the..." He breathed, gasping and taking a step back, she was lying on the bed, some silvery stuff running down her hands. He froze, staring at her horrified.

Shaye glanced up, a horrified look on her face as Chris gaped at her. She rose swiftly to her feet, clasping her hands behind her, trying to hide what she had done.
"Chris" She gasped, fear bubbling inside her.
"Vaix!"

Vaix watched him go with a frown, then at hearing Shaye's call, burst from the hot tube and back inside. Leaving Lana to fend for herself as he dashed over and froze at the sight. Chris was standing shocked in the doorway, and Shaye was bleeding. He walked over slowly, placing a hand on Chris' shoulder. "Stay there," he growled, glancing at Chris from the corner of his eye. "I'll explain later." He walked over to Shaye, scooping up her hands and looking at the multiple wounds on her wrists. "Oh Shaye," he whispered sadly, kissing her forehead. "If you were that hungry I would have helped you..." He looked back at Chris sadly, then walked past, shoving Chris in the room with Shaye and closing the door. "I'll get some bandages Shaye, keep him there." He walked down stairs quietly, still paying no mind to Lana, unconcerned about the idea of her seeing. Chris had seen, he'd tell Lana eventually anyways.

"What is going on?" Lana called, clambering out of the hot tub and following after Vaix. She hadn't even seen Shaye when Vaix burst from her room and headed off.
"Hey, what's going on?" She said, ignoring Shaye's room completely now and following after Vaix.

Chris still stood frozen in the spot that Vaix had pushed him.
"Who? No wait, What are you?" He breathed, staring horrified yet facinated at the girl in front of him. She let out a harsh laugh, "Ah a vampire shape sihfter" She admitted, wrists still dripping blood.
"A what?" He said, taking a tentitive step towards her.
"Don't" She hissed, pressing herself to the wall. "That's why I did this, I'm hungry" She warned. She glanced anxiously at the door, hoping that Vaix would return soon.
"You're a vampire?" He said, still close enough to make her anxious. "A vampire shape shifter" She said, smiling akwardly and changing her hair colour for a moment before changing it back.
"Oh, a vampire shape shifter" Chris said, falling back and sitting on the floor.
"Good to know"

Vaix didn't even acknowledge Lana's question, he made his way down to the bathroom cupboards to get a pack of bandage rolls. He sighed and walked past her, "maybe Chris will tell you..." was all he bothered to say as he made his way back upstairs to Shaye's room. He wasn't in the mood to deal with Lana right now.

Lana pouted and glared at Vaix.
"Why can't you tell me?" She demanded, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall.
"Jerk" She grumbled, leaning against the wall.

Chris gaped at Shaye, who was staring hungrily at him.
"Stay over there please" He murmured. She nodded and slipped down the wall, sitting on the carpet. She felt weak, really weak. She was still bleeding a bit, and seeing as she hadn't fed yet, she felt ill.
She slumped forward, feeling sick.

Vaix emerged into the room, he pushed Chris out in a rather burden like way, then gave him a look that said: 'I'll find you if you leave this house.' He turned knelt down to Shaye and started to bandage her wounded wrists up. "I'm sorry," he said sadly, "I should have been helping you better..." Once he'd finished with her wrists he pulled her close and angled his neck for her. "I'll help," he said softly, "take as much as you need..."

"What's wrong with her?" Chris asked, having moved to the side of the room and was watching, worried about Shaye.
Lana walked in the room. "What is going on?" She demanded, not understanding the danger she was in,
"Shush" Chris said, still watching Shaye and Vaix with wide eyes.

Shaye dragged her eyes open, she could scent his blood, but the effort of getting it was ridiculous.
"I'm so tired" She murmured, resting her head against him, but hadn't bit him yet. She was so tired, she could barely think straight right now.
