This Mask is Not Me

"Yeah?" vaix chuckled softly at Shaye's contentment, then brought his eyes to the TV, running his fingers through her hair still as he watched the show with a content smile. He was enjoying his time with her, he really was, and he wished that he didn't have to return to the others when Shaye was healed up. At the rate it was happening it would be less than two days before she was completely done, and that was if things went slowly.

Shaye sighed, closing her eyes for a moment, and then opening them as something happened on the TV.
"This is nice" She mumbled, growing tired. Thouh she was healing rapidly, her injury still wore her out more then she wanted it to.
"I'm tired" She said, cuddling in the blanket, her head rested on his lap now, purring softly.

Vaix watched the screen, smiling as Shaye commented on how nice the moment was. He gave a nod of agreement, then looked over at her as she stated she was tired. "Sleep then," he said calmly, "I won't stop you..." He continued to run his fingers affectionately through her dark hair, enjoying the company she provided.

"Maybe I will" She murmured, her eyes closing a bit. She pulled the blankets around herself, sighing contently and drifting closer and closer to sleep. She was tired, but she was enjoying just being with Vaix, and didn't want to sleep through all her time with him.
"Sorry. I'm so tired, but I don't really want to sleep the whole time I'm with you" She mumbled, letting her eyes open for a moment, before shutting again.

"I want you to get better," Vaix muttered softly, "sleep helps you. It's good. There is no law saying that our time alone is limited Shaye. After your arm if 100% healed, we can still be alone, and when you're ready, we'll go back to see you're family. No harm done." He kissed her gently on the cheek as she snuggled up in the blankets and drifted in and out of sleep. "No worries Shaye, everything's fine..."

Shaye sighed, barely hearing his voice, but aware that he was reassuring her, yet again. Sighing she cuddled against him, letting her head rest in his lap, before sliding down a bit so it was beside his leg. She figured he'd want to get up and put a new movie on, once this one was over.

Vaix sighed, watching Shaye shift around until she was comfortable, then fall asleep. He watched the movie in silence, then, once it finished shut the TV off. Sitting contently in the dark room with Shaye, staring with unfocused eyes at the ceiling. Enjoying the moment.

Shaye's injured arm snaked out, resting against his leg. Sighing, she turned on her side a bit, and cuddled against him. Smiling to herself her eyes roved underneath her eyelids, odviously dreaming, but it didn't seem bad for right now. She pressed against him again, tossing a bit now, not upset, but not calm.

Vaix glanced down at Shaye curiously as she began to fidget, he worried she might be having another nightmare, and frowned. Though, didn't wake her until it became more obvious to what was going on. She way just be dreaming, and sleep was important in her case...

Shaye sighed, her body stiffening for a moment, before relaxing. She turned on her side, her back facing the TV and her face pressed against the back of the couch. She couldn't stay still most of the time, so sleeping was no different. Sighing, she rubbed at her eyes, still asleep. Shaye had small habits that surfaced in her sleep.

Vaix watched her, then smiled as she rubbed her eyes and caught on to the fact she wasn't having a nightmare, just fussing around. He ran his fingers through her hair once, then kissed the top of her head, feeling a sharp thirst in the back of his throat as he came so close. Shaye had shifter blood, as a vampire, it was dulled to a mere hot sauce sort of flavour, he'd eat it, but it wasn't something he'd go out of his way for. Though, due to his lack of eating over the past couple weeks. Shaye's blood seemed far to appealing than what he was comfortable with. He frowned, pulling away from her slightly. Shaye wasn't healthy enough to donate even a drop to him, he didn't want to hurt her. He looked at the door with a frown. Then back at Shaye, swallowing as an attempt to get his throat to feel less dry.

Shaye shifted, eyes flicking opening and sighing.
"Hey" She murmured, looking a bit confused. He looked stressed suddenly, and she was confused as to why. She noticed him swallowing, and it hit her that he might actually be hungry.
"Go eat" She mumbled, rolling over and pulling the blanket around her. She didn't want him to starve because he was terrified to leave her side.
"Please, I'll be fine. Watch movies and sleep" She murmured, her voice slurring in exahustiuon.

Vaix frowned, sighing as Shaye picked up on his hunger. The idea of hunting appealed to him, but at the same time terrified him. Shaye wouldn't do anything dangerous in his absence, but who's to say someone else wouldn't? He didn't respond, just sighed and started to run his fingers through her hair again. He was fine, a couple more days, a week at most, and he could eat knowing she was safe...

Shaye sighed and rolled over, propping herself up on her elbows to look at Vaix.
"Go. Eat human, the people next door if that makes you feel better. But go hunt, or I'll kick you out myself" She threatened, but she was only half teasing. Sighing she ran her fingers through her own hair, looking at him with a sad smile.
"You know how you said you'd stay healthy for me? Well what if I get hungry soon? You need to go feed" She murmured, it was true, she was getting hungry, not bad, but slowly she could feel it crawling up her throat.

Vaix sighed, opening his mouth to protest, then shutting it again. She'd got him. If he didn't leave now, it would be putting out the idea he didn't care for her health. He looked down at her, his hand left her hair, and instead was placed to her shoulder. "Fine," he muttered softly. "But you call me, for anything. A knock on the door... anything. I want to know. Please..." He kissed the top of her head softly, then stood up, watching her with wide worried eyes, then glancing at the door nervously. He was scared to leave her, he really was. She wasn't alone here, who was to say some of the drunk parties wouldn't come inside. He shuddered at the thought and looked down at Shaye. She was so brittle, with on arm in gauze it would be hard to fend off against even a small group of humans in a small space like this... He swallowed, then shook his head, "I can't." He whimpered and sat back down beside her. "I'm fine Shaye, really. It's only a couple more days..."

She let out a small sigh, but didn't protest. The whimpering, the look on his face, it tortured her. Sighing she rested her head in his lap, sighing and looking up at him.
"Alright, that's fine" She murmured, smiling reassuringly at him. She didn't want to upset him, stress him out. She understood exactly how he felt, considering that if he had been injured like this, she would never leave his side.
"It's alright, I understand" She murmured, reaching over and pulling his hand to her face, kissing his palm lightly.

Vaix watched her sadly, then gave a sigh and relaxed as she reassured him. He forced himself to ignore the burn in his throat, and watched her with an almost sad, yet loving smile. "I'm sorry," he whispered to her as she kissed his hand. "It must be bothersome to have my sort of behaviour around when you're healing..." He scooped Shaye up gently, careful of her arm, then curled up with her against his chest and his legs pulled up to keep her snugly with him. He buried his face in her shoulder, and let out a very gentle, reassuring purr.

Shaye sighed, "I honestly don't mind" She murmured, sighing as he cuddled her. She smiled as he began to purr, relaxng against his chest and letting him just hold her. The room was silent, except for the noises of the neighbours and people outside the room. She glanced at the TV, vaugly confused about why it was off, It had been on when she had been awake.

Vaix was too caught up in Shaye to notice the neighbours right now, he did notice her looking confusedly at the TV, and said calmly. "Movie ended, I shut it off for a bit. It's only fun to watch movies if there's someone to watch them with you..." He rocked gently with her, the kissed her cheek and hid against her again, purring once more. He was still hungry, Shaye's blood still lulled him to drink, but he tried his best to ignore it. He was fine, he didn't want Shaye to worry over him.

Shaye nodded.
"Ah, that makes sense" She murmured, smiling as he rocked her. He was so big compared to her, not in a bad way, but in a comforting way. Sighing, she closed her eyes, hoping that everything really was okay as it felt. She sighed again, letting him relaxe her.
"We can watch another one if you want?" She murmured, her voice slurring a bit.

Vaix chuckled at her comment, "that depends, do you think you can stay awake for another one?" He lifted his head and her's to look at her affectionately, then kissed her forehead neatly and placed her head back against his chest. One hand cradling her head, the other her body. He was, a fair size bigger than Shaye, due to his human age. He was older no matter what. Though, even if they were the same age, he was sure Shaye wouldn't be taller than him. It was a boy thing to be taller than you're girl.

Shaye shrugged.
"Probably not, I can try though" She murmured, smiling at him as he cradled her. She sighed and let him support her weight, though she doubted she weighed a lot to him. She pulled the blanket up, enjoying the warmth that it created, or at leas the allusion of heat. She sighed, and rubbed at her eyes with her good hand.
"Or we can just lay here. I don't really want you to get up" She mumbled, smiling. Him getting up, meant that he had to put her down, and she didn't really want that.

"I don't want to get up either," Vaix chuckled back with a soft smile, he shook his head then glanced at the DVD player, he really wasn't to interested in a movie right now. He purred softly and hide against Shaye again, continuously rocking her back and forth, untroubled by her weight.

Shaye smiled, closing her eyes. The blanket covered the lower half of her face, so only her eyes were really showing. She smiled at him, though it wasn't visible, happy. This was nice, she could spend years just sitting in his arms, not caring. She felt an overwhelming surge of emotion and she turned, pressing her face against his chest, happiness nearly over powering her. She let out a small sigh, beyond content at this point.
"I love you" She said, her voice thick with emotions.

"As I to you," Vaix replied back softly with a content smile. The purring started up again, louder and more attention demanding than before, though not in an obnoxious way, more in a way relating to a feline whom was very, very happy at the moment. He kissed her repeatedly, in a gentle affectionate way, still continuing on as before, rocking from side to side slowly with her in his arms, trapped in the valley of his chest and legs.
