This Mask is Not Me

"You look so chill" She said, smiling. He had looked rather hilarious in his relaxed state. She sighed, realizing her hair was still wet.
"Do you mind?" She asked, nodding at the wet mark on his pants. She doubted it, but she still wanted to make sure he wasn't bothered. She sighed, glaring at her arm for a moment. If she could shift, she could dry her hair in an instant, but when injured her body prevented shifting to protect her.

Vaix blinked, not even noticing the water thing up until now. "No, of course not." He muttered back with a lazy yawn. He watched her momentarily as she glared at her arm, then let his head fall back again with a soft sigh. "Sorry, if I'm too 'chill' for you, you may proceed to stick me back in the freezer for later." He yawned again, another lazy, teeth revealing yawn as his head hung limply of the back of the couch.

Shaye laughed, "Stick you back in the freezer eh?" She teased, shaking her head and splattering him with a few drops of water in the process. She laughed again and let her arm drop carefully to the side of the couch. She smiled up at him lazily, giggling as he let his head loll back on the couch.
"You're a dork" She teased, poking him lightly in the stomach with her good hand.

Vaix had ignored the water being thrown at him, but had lifted his head to look at her when she poked him. He blinked, watching her with a clueless look, then smiling. "Really, you're calling your boyfriend a dork? That's not very nice," he purred anyway, leaning forward to kiss the top of her head with a smile. He didn't care what she called him, he knew she didn't mean it in any bad way.

Shaye laughed softly.
"Yea, I guess I'm not very nice" She said, grinning cheekily at him and sighing. She shifted, sitting up and resting her head against his shoulder, the blanket was still wrapped around her and she sighed happily. A knock on the door startled her, just as she was falling asleep again.
"Who the heck is that?" She grumbled, sitting up and walking to the door, completely forgetting that she was only wearing his shirt and her orange bikini bottoms. Opening the door, she met the gaze of a rather startled human teenager.
"Er, uh, um..." He trailed off, gaping at her.

Vaix jumped at the knock on the door, standing and following after Shaye as he remembered how revealed she was, the fact a boy was at the door didn't help him either. He lay a casual arm over her shoulder as he looked at the guy. Then raised a questioning brow and said, "yes?" In a very smooth casual manner, "may I help you?"

The boy was still gaping at Shaye, looking stunned. Finally he managed to tear his eyes away from her legs, and bringing them slowly up her body, to her face.
"Uh, the hotel is having a party tonight, and I've been asked to give all guests these" He handed Vaix a card, blushing as his awe struck gaze once again returned to the female in front of him.

Shaye smiled and leaned against Vaix.
"Thank you" She said, not commiting them to going to the party or anything. She doubted Vaix wanted to go, it would be to stressful for him.

Vaix took the invitations handed to him, and gave a nod along with says thanks. He leaned his head casually on hers as she leaned on his shoulder, almost to make a point of ownership to the boy. He was slightly defensive over it, because Shaye did get a lot of boys staring at her, harassing her, and hitting on her. He'd learned he'd need to show off their relationship to keep it running smoothly.

The boy coughed, before smiling at Vaix, although it looked forced.
"Well hopefiully we see you tonight" He said, looking pointedly at Shaye, before turning and disappearing back down the hall. Shaye laughed and shut the door, leaning against Vaix still.
"Well that was mildy entertaining" She said, looking up at him curiously to see what he thought of the occurance with the human. She could hear the boy now, bragging to his friends about her.

Vaix rolled his eyes and gave a sigh as the door closed, he glanced over at her and shook his head. Then gave a bit of a laugh, "you know, dressed like you are, I can't blame the guy. I think he took it well." He'd seen how some boys acted when Shaye actually had all her clothes on, the boy had acted about as appropriate as a boy could in that sort of situation.

Shaye nodded, "Yea, he could've been way worse. And it's not that bad. I could've answered the door in a towel or something" She teased, walking back into the living room and flopping on the couch, curling the blanket around her as she did so. She smiled at him, relieved that he was so calm right now. She sighed, looking out the windows. It was almost dark out, and the ski hill had turned on the large lights that lit the ski runs.

Vaix wandered after her, watching her curl up in her blanket with an amused smile. He didn't say anything, being stuck his his quiet sort of mood again as he made him way over and sat down beside her. Looking out the window also, the night was beautiful, seeing as how the snow in the day hurt his eyes, at night, it reflected the moon in a calm toned sort of way. He smiled, but continued to be quiet.

Shaye sighed and glanced out at the hot tub on the deck.
"I think I'm gonna go soak awhile" She said, nodding at the tub as she sat up, pulling off his shirt and revealing her bikini top underneath. Smiling at him she slipped out onto the deck and quickly removed the hot tub cover. Using her good hand, she felt the water and smiled, sliding in, careful to keep her hand rested on the back of the tub so it didn't fall in the water. She had a perfect view of the ski hill and was watching the few skiiers and boarders still hazarding the slope with amusment.

Vaix watched her, standing as she finished getting in. A soft, barely noticeable smile pulled over his face as he walked after her, taking off his shoes, shirt, and pants, leaving nothing but his boxers (seeing as how it's the closest thing he has to a swimsuit) and dropping them behind him on the floor. He crawled into the tub after her, going slowly as to not provoke any waves that may reach her wounded arm. He stared at the bright ski hill, giving a sigh, then staring back at her with a more noticeable, loving smile.

Shaye laughed as a skiier and snow boarder almost collide on the dark hill. She smiled at Vaix as he got into the hot tub.
"Decided you could use a soak as well?" She asked him smiling. She leaned her head back against the side of the tub, letting herself sink lower in the hot water, but still careful to keep her arm raised.
She pulled her hair up, tying it in a knot so that it didn't get to wet, it was finally begining to dry.
"Urgh, I can't wait till I can shift again"

Vaix smiled at her comment, then promptly asked her, "why? What would you change? You're perfect as you are already." He knew it probably sounded cheesy, but to be honest, it was his truth, he was most attracted to her when she was in her original state. Though she as beautiful to him no matter what, it was his favorite to see her as she was.

Shaye laughed, "My hair. I can make it dry when I'm able to shift. I have nothing else to change right now" She said, smiling at his comment and thankful that she couldn't blush anymore. She sighed and leaned over, resting her head against his shoulder now. She brushed a stray hair from her face as it escaped from her knot.

Vaix smiled happily as she came over to him, kissing her forehead affectionately, then laying his head on top of hers as he eyes dazed out, staring at the hot tub water, and their reflections. His smile grew warmer at what he saw, happier and more content. the both of them looked so very happy together, not that he didn't feel it in the first place, but to see it was equally as beautiful and welcoming.

Shaye looked at him, noting the smile on his face.
"What?" She asked, having not noticed the reflection on the floor. Sighing she closed her eyes, letting him support her for as she relaxed.
"This is nice" She said, ignoring the fact that their deck wasn't exactly private and they had drawn the attention of a few curious neighbours.

Vaix hadn't noticed the neighbours watching until he heard hushed whispers. He glanced over, his smile wavering slightly at seeing an audience, then looked down at Shaye, giving a soft sigh. He shouldn't have expected private time outside, so he wasn't too grumpy over it. Shaye was happy, and so was he. No matter what their audience thought, as long as they weren't rude or obnoxious, he didn't mind their watching.

Shaye sighed, her eyes still closed. A light snowflake landed on her face, not melting, but drawing her attention.
"It's snowing" She said, her green eyes opening as she looked up at the slowly filling sky. She grinned, letting the snow land on her hair, melting only due to the heat of the hot tub and not her skin.
"Wow" She said, watching the delicate flakes, caught up in their intrecate patterns.

"You're acing as if you've never seen snow before..." Vaix chuckled back to her, smiling contently at her happiness. He too, looked up, attempting to figure out what was intriguing her, and finding only a wad of snowflake stuck in his eye. He blinked multiple times, then rubbed his eyes clear. Kissing Shaye's cheek lovingly after he finished.

Shaye laughed.
"I know, but they look so pretty" She said, giggling as he got a snowflake lodged in his eye. She smiled as he kissed her cheek.
"Why? Don't you find them pretty? I mean, they're so intrecate"

"Yes, very nice." Vaix muttered back with a sigh, he was sure, at her age, he'd probably see it her way, but in all the time he'd been alive, snow had lost it's appeal, long with many other things. He occupied himself by attempting to catch as many flakes as he could with his bare right hand, smiling happily as he caught one, then offering it to Shaye. His hand was cold, so the snowflake was preserved perfectly for her.

Shaye sighed, knowing Vaix's joy with life had long since disappeared.
"Well whatever" She teased, sticking her tounge out but taking the snowflake and examining it.
"I think they're pretty" She mumbled defensively, admiring the snowflake as she held it close to her green eye.
