Alayan smiled. "I think you'll like him. He was more of a dad to me then my father was, if that makes any sense..." she said quietly, pulling her face from her hands to look up at him. "Only...we may have to wait a bit before breaking the whole 'My-boyfriend-is-an-angel thing' " Alayna said, laughing as she spoke.

Kristen chuckled, growing silent after that. This time it had been hard, this time it had been close. Kristen tried not to shudder at the thought as she lay there with Demitri. He was talking to her know, which kept her out of the past. Right now, he was alright, he was here with her, talking, and teasing her. Just like always. Yesterday was just a bad dream, Kristen though, pressing her lips to his shoulder after closing her eyes.

Keith arched an eyebrow.
"You want to tell him, eventually?" He asked her. He wouldn't forbid her from telling Nicko, but there was always a huge risk involved in telling family about his kind. He sighed and shook his head, "Just don't expect a good reaction" He warned her gently. He bit his lip abserntmindedly, he'd have to talk to Kristen more about this, she was better at the whole family thing then he was.

Demitri felt her lips against his shoulder and sighed.
"Are you aright?" He asked, sitting up a bit, rolling over and gathering her in his arms. He felt better now, and she seemed sort of sad, which made him want to fuss over her now.

Alayna tried not to cringe. "Am I not allowed to?" she asked quietly. If she had to, Alayna could keep a secert from Nicko, but she wasn't sure for how long. He already had suspisions about the school, and she didn't want him getting the wrong impression about her new friends.


"I'm in a better state, physically, then you are..." Kristen murmured, bitting back the impulse to scowld him for moving around. He was going to hurt himself again. She sighed with relief, feeling his arms around her now. Kristen kept her eyes closed, resting her head on the pillow now.

"No, you're welcome to, I'm just saying, it might not go over to well" He murmured softly, smiling.
"Just no one else can really know. I know you care for this brother, so I don't mind you telling him, not at all" Keith said, smiling at her and sighing.
"Just make sure you consult Demitri and Kristen before you tell their secrets" He said, grinning.

"Not for long" He teased, pulling her head gently so ot was now rested on his chest.
"Don't worry love, I should be up tomorrow" He said, wondering how she'd react to that statement.

Alayna chewed her lip. "Well...he already knows something about the school..." she said quietly. "I'm not sure what, but he knows something....it may not bother him that much. Come to think of it," Alayna said, looking down with a slight frown. "It was really easy for me to accept that fact..."
"I wouldn't dream of telling Nicko about Kristen and Demitri without tell them first." Alayna said, her eyes widening at the thought.


"I'll catch up quick." Kristen said, flexing her fingers on her casted hand without wincing. She smiled, resting her head gently on his chest. She closed her eyes, not wanting to see the scabbing gashes over the vampire's bare skin. She didn't want to think about last night; it hurt.
"Restless vampire.." Kristen teased, sighing.

Keith smiled.
"Alright" He murmured, smiling at her. "I'm not worried about it, Kristen might be though. Her expereice with telling people hasn't gone well. And well, I have no one to tell" He murmured softly.

Demitri sighed, "Yupp, you know me, I can't sit still" He teased, kissing her head lightly.
"Oh? So you're gonna be up and out of bed tomorrow?" He teased, knowing she'd never let him out of the room now.

Alayna chuckled softly. "Alright. I'll talk to them." she said, nodding her head. Alayna almost couldn't believe it; Nicko would be home. Smiling widely again, Alayna stood up straight to kiss Keith again. "Thank you." she said quietly, reaching a hand up to touch his cheek lightly.


Kristen sighed. "Yea, you're definitely feeling better." she murmured, shaking her head lightly. She would probably need another day of rest if she was to work out everything in her mind. Physically, she was fine, aside from her cast and the few cuts. Mentally was a whole other story though. Kristen wasn't going to tell Demitri that right now, she needed to work everything out first.

Keith smiled, shaking his head a bit. He wished he could understand this whole family thing. He was happy she was happy, but that was pretty much it. He couldn't really understand missing someone to the extent she was, perhaps when they went seperate ways for christmas he'd understand. He sighed and shrugged, smiling at her again.

Demitri smiled.
"Of course" He mumbled, tightening his arms around her. He could tell something else was really bothering her, but he didn't press the subject, she'd tell if she wanted to. He sighed, and stretched out.
"Urgh, I can't wait to shower, I don't see how you can even stand lying next to me" He teased, trying to lighten her mood.

Alayna smiled at Keith, shaking her head slightly. She looked down at his wounded hand before back up at him. "Want me to wrap that?" she asked. "You're still bleeding a bit..." Alayna winced at the cut, shaking her head.


"I love you remember?" Kristen asked, completely serious. She knew he was only trying to cheer her up. She felt his arms tighten around her, and bit her lip. Kristen sighed, letting him be for now. "After all that, did you expect me to leave you?" she whispered, opening her eyes to look up at him. "They made me leave the room when Eric had to work his magic...nearly killed me just to walk the few steps to Alayna's room..." she muttered the last part, resting her head back on his chest and closing her eyes.

"No, it's fine" Keith said, glancing down at his hand shrugging. He sighed, relaxing against the wall.
"Should we go back in? Or do you want to just stay until you've calmed down a bit?" He asked smiling at her. He sighed, shaking his head a bit. He had forgotten his hand was even bleeding.

Demitri sighed, wincing.
"I'm so sorry" He said, he had no idea what had happened with Eric.
"I didn't know they made you leave, although I'm glad that they did" He murmured softly, tightening his arms around her and kissing her forhead. He had had no idea that she was so upset.

"You sure?" Alayna asked, glancing back at his hand worriedly. She sighed, looking back up at him before rubbing her face again. "Do I look like I've been crying?" she asked quietly, pulling her hands away from her face.

"Don't hurt yourself." Kristen muttered, feeling his arms tighten around her again. She let out a deep breath as he kissed her forehead. Swallowing hard, Kristen sat up. She turned around so that she was leaning over him. "Why are you glad they did?" she asked quietly.

Keith smiled.
"No, not at all" He said with a grin, kissing the top of her head.
"You look really happy actually, you're glowing a bit" He grinned.

"Stop fussing" Demitri teased, before become serious.
"Well you see, I'm guessing if they made you leave it was bad, and I don't want you to see me like that" He said sadly.

Alayna's eyes went wide. She smiled as Keith kissed her head. "Alright, we can go back in if you want." she murmured, thinking about what he had just said. "You're joking right? About the glowing..." Alayna said, seeing the grin on his face.


"It was bad from the start..." Kristen's voice was quiet as she spoke. "I could almost....feel it. Whatever magic was in you, I could feel it pulling you away from me..." Kristen was trying not to shake now. The more she fought it though, the worse it got. "I couldn't fight it though, and I was afraid that if I left you..." Kristen sighed, resting her forehead against Demitri's, her eyes shut tight.

"Not like actually glowing, but you're beaming. It's noticable" Keith said, opening the door back into the dorm room.
"Sheesh" He teased the two on the bed, although he picked up the serious atmosphere nearly instantly. He glanced at Kristen, noticing the sticken look on her face.
"Everything alright?" He asked, looking worried.

Demitri winced and pulled her against him.
"Oh gods love, I am so sorry that you had to go through that" He murmured, feeling his heart constricting in his chest.
"I will never leave you, I promise" He said, knowing she had thought he would die. He knew he had been that close, but to know that she had felt it too, it hurt a lot.

"Well, I am happy..." she murmured, suddenly shy. She didn't think it was possible for her to glow, in any way, shape or form. Taking a deep breath as Keith opened the door, Alayna followed the angel in. She tensed, looking at Kristen and Demitri, bitting on her lower lip gently. "Um, I think we came in at a bad time..." she mumbled quietly.


Kristen sighed heavily as Demitri pulled her to him. She rested her head in the nook of his neck, shaking her head slightly. "Please don't..." she whispered. "I'm not sure what will happen if you do." she sighed deeply as Keith and Alayna walked in and she turned her face into the bed, not wanting to look at the others. Now it was her turn to act like a shy child.

Keith shrugged and walked over to the bed, grinning as he realized Demitri was awake, and Kristen was now hiding and being shy.
"Should we leave? Or can we stay?" He asked, arching an eyebrow. He glanced around, wondering what on earth they had been discussing, not that he cared really, but odviously the conversation had been upsetting. He sat down on his bed and glanced at the movie, noticing the credits.
"Time for another one?" He asked, trying to ease the tension in the room.
A low buzzing sounded from the center of his bed.
"Alayna, your phone's buzzing"

Demitri sighed.
"Never" He said, wrapping his arms around her protectively. "Shh love" He murmured softly, shrugging his shoulders at Keith.
"Nah, you guys can stay, yea feel free to throw another movie on. Maybe the next mummy or something" He said casually, although he looked tense, very protective of Kristen.

"Yea, I'll put in the next one." Alayna said, hurrying to do so. She looked up at Keith, hearing her phone buzzing. She smiled, pressing play before picking up her phone. She frowned though, and answered the phone. "Jerry?" Alayna asked, frowning at the bed. She turned away towards the window as she listened to her brother. "Okay...I got a letter yesterday from him. He's home?" Alayna decided to play dumb for now; Jerry wouldn't understand how she knew Nicko was home. "What?!" Alayna's face turned of that to pure horror.


Kristen heard Alayna put in the movie, and she heard Demitri and Keith talking. She sighed, rubbing her face before sitting up. Now she heard the fear in Alayna's voice and she turned around to look at the girl. Kristen frowned, looking from Keith to Alayna before back at Demitri.

Keith stared at Alayna.
"What?" He asked, cursing Castiel mentally in his head. He watched her, "Alayna, seriously, what?" He said, Cas had said Nicko would go home, he'd be fine, he'd be home. He glanced at Kristen and Demitri, noting that they had picked up on her emotions as well.

Demitri wrapped his arms around Kristen, watching Alayna with an intent face. Something told him they'd be heading towards wherever her home was before morning. He looked at Kristen, she looked stressed, although whether if was from their conversation or from Alayna's expression, he didn't know.

Alayna didn't hear Keith at all.
"Jerry, I swear to God if you're playing around I'll-" Alayna covered her mouth, forcing herself to listen to her brother at the other end. She shook her head, closing her eyes shut. Alayna took a deep breath to try and relax, and it helped a little. "That's not true, Jerry! Stop lying to m- Dad? You're- ...No! No, he can't be..." Alayna cringed at her father's voice. It wasn't harsh or unintersted, like always, and it made Alayna dizzy. If her father was home, then everything Jerry had said was true. Alayna held her head as it pounded, feeling the ground spin and then tip beneath her.


"Keith, she's gonna faint..." Kristen said quietly. She'd seen Alayna go from tense to limp in a matter of seconds, and knew what would happen next. The phone fell to the floor and Alayna staggered back, both her hands covering her ears.
"No, no no no..." Alayna was mumbling the word over and over, shaking her head. She didn't want to hear anymore.

Keith grabbed Alayna, cursing Castiel again and again. He glanced at the other's, wondering if Demitri had overheard the other half of the conversation. The vampire shook his head, and Keith frowned, cradling Alayna against his chest, in case she suddenly just passed out. She was still mumbling 'no' under her breath, and he was guessing this was something very, very bad.

Demitri watched Alayna, eyes wide, horrified. "This can't be good" He mumbled to Kristen. He watched Keith, noting the annoyed look on the angel's face. Odviously something hadn't gone according to plan.

Now Alayna was shaking and trying in vain to hold back her tears. "You said he was going to be ok!" she said, holding her head as she looked up at Keith. "You said he would be home," Alayna shook her head, covering her face as she cried. "You promised!" Alayna couldn't help it. She felt angry and hurt. She didn't mean to take it out on Keith, the words just rolled from her as she pushed herself away from the angel and ran out of the room.


Kristen tried not to cringe as Alayna slammed the door. "Maybe..he missed the flight?" she suggested pathetically. Somehow, she firgured Alayna wouldn't be so upset if that had been the case. There was only one thing Kristen could assume, but it was the worst case scenrio, and she didn't want to bring that up right now.

Keith watched her go, eyes wide.
"Excuse me" He said in an icy voice. Castiel had some major explaining to do. He followed Alayna out of the room, "Kristen, maybe you should talk to her. Since whatever happened is my fault" He said, his voice still cold and stiff. He slid from the room, a terrifying expression on his face. As he stepped from the school, his wings automatically flared out, he walked back to the clearing.
"Castiel" He roared at the sky, watching in anger as the other angel appeared.
"What?"

Demitri watched Alayna, horrified.
"You talk to Alayna, like Keith said, I'll go to find Keith" He said, shaking his head and getting up from the bed. He shook, but was able to stay on his feet. He groaned and managed to pull on a shirt that he had borrowed from Keith.

Kristen sucked in a breath, nodding to Keith. "I guess I should..." she said quietly, eyes wide at the ice in Keith's voice. Running a hand through her hair, Kristen slid off from the bed, quickly pulling her shoes back one. She would have time for a shower later. Her eyes wandered back to Demitri as the vampire shook, and she tried not to frown. "Be careful alright?" Kristen said. "You're still healing..." she gave a light smile before leaving the room to find Alayna.


It took some time, but Kristen managed to find her. She was surprised at the fact that Alayna would be in the gym, training, of all places and times. Kristen pushed the door open slowly, seeing that Alayna's back was to the door. She winced as the dagger thunked against the wall hard; Alayna hadn't bothered with a target sheet, but Kristen could see a small gash appearing from being hit in the same place.
Kristen stepped into the room slowly, closing the door behind her carefully. She walked into Alayna's line of view, and the girl tossed her dagger once more before letting her arms drop to her side. "What happened?" Kristen asked quietly.
Alayna looked up, her face set hard and her eyes red. "They were sending him home because he was in critical condition. He had been wounded during a battle, and they didn't have anything to help him with there." Alayna was starting to shake again and she walked over to retrieve her dagger and throw it a couple times angrily.
Kristen frowned. "Then he's in the hospital now?" she asked, thinking her brother still had somewhat of the chance.
Alayna shook her head stiffly. "Dad said that they shouldn't have moved him at all. The flight was too much..."

Demitri nodded. "Same to you" He said, slipping out the window. He followed Keith's scent, before happening upon a sight that he had never seen before. Keith and another angel, talking. Well not really talking, more like arguing.

"You promised Cas. Alive, safe, you promised" Keith snapped, glowering at the other angel.
"I know, I know. I'm working on it. I had no idea he had already been hurt when I gave the order" Castiel tried to explain.
"I don't care Cas, bring him back. You've done it before, I know that. Now do it again. You owe me big Cas, I wouldn't be down here if it wasn't for you. Bring him back" Keith said, unaware of his vampiric audience.
"I will, I will. I'll bring him down tomorrow" Cas said, disappearing. Keith growled and turned, nearly walking into Demitri.
"Oh, what?" The angel asked in a slightly annnoyed voice.
"What the hell are you doing?" Demitri hissed.
"Bringing her brother back" Keith said, his voice terrifying. Demitri winced, "You can do that?"
"All angels can"

Kristen sucked in a breath as Alayna threw her dagger roughly again. "I knew it too." she was muttering through her teeth. "I knew he had been hurt. I felt it. Didn't even know I could..." Alayna was having trouble pulling the dager out from the now hole in the wall. She took in a shaky breath before ripping the dagger out with all the strength she had. The dagger slipped from her grasp, slicing into the side of her hand. "Damnit." Alayna hissed, the dagger clanking to the floor.

Taking her steps slowly, Kristen bent down to pick up the dagger, letting Alayna nurse her own wound. "Will you be heading home then?" Kristen asked quietly, cleaning the girl's blood from the weapon before holding it out to her. Alayna's eyes went cold as she pulled her mouth away from her bleeding hand.
"I don't have a home anymore." Kristen winced; nearly everyone who went to this school, who wasn't human like Alayna, said that at one point or another. It wasn't something she exactly wanted for Alayna.
"You still have your other brother, and your father. Maybe there's something-"
"Kristen just stop!" Alayna hissed, closing her eyes tight and snacthing her dagger back. "Nicko isn't like me. He doesn't have an ability, or magic, or anything. He's just a human....and now he's gone..." Alayna swallowed the lump in her throat, shaking her head before walking past the shifter to leave.
