Kristen was silent for a long while. A hand brushed against her wrapped arm lightly, mindlessly, as her eyes stared unfocused at her side of the bedroom. She was quiet for such a long time, that it made Alayna nervous. The shifter almost looked stock still. "Kristen...?" she asked quietly, worry in her voice.

The shifter sighed deeply, rubbing her eyes before looking over at Alayna. "Keith's right. He'll be alright. It's just that...for us, family is the people we care about. We look out for..." she said, suddenly struggling with an explination. Though Alayna was nodding, Kristen frowned. "It's much more serious for vampires...they will literatly, lay their life down for their family...so...it's just going to take some time." she said, pathetically with a slight shrugg. She had already accepted Alayna as family, so she was hoping it wouldn't take Demitri that long.

Keith nodded. "Also, you have to understand, vampires live incredibly long lives. For Demitri to accept you as family he's accepting someone who's going to die centuries before him, it's a very hard thing for a vampire. That's why they have little to no contact with mortals" He murmured, wincing. He hoped Alayna didn't take any of this the wrong way. "Just give him some time love, it's hard thing for him. Also, vampires emotions are different then ours, more intense. Things that we consider minimal can change them permantently"

Demitri walked back towards the room, knocking once, warning them that he was back, before slipping inside.
"Hey" He said, voice soft, quiet. He walked over to Kristen, unopened water bottle in hand. He had heard some of the conversation and smiled at Keith, thanking his friend. He didn't want to have to explain to Alayna, that would be a bit much for him right now.

"Well..that much I did know.." Alayna murmured in regaurds to the long life-span of vampires. She sighed, resting her head on Keith's shoulder as she thought over everything she was just old. Maybe it was a bit of a mistake, making her part of their family so quickly....Alayna cringed at the thought of having effected Demitri permantly.

Kristen nodded to Keith, growing silent again. Her eyes flickered to the door as Demitri knocked and a smile threathened to appear as he stood next to her. "Hiya..." she answered, just as quiet.

Demitri glanced at Alayna, smiling brightly, although whether he really meant it, or just was trying to reassure her was unknown.
"Don't worry so much" He told her, dark eyes sparkling. He had thought it over, in a matter of minutes, she was Kristen's friend, Kristen's family, and therefore she was his as well. He sighed, "I'm sorry about my behaviour a moment ago, but Kristen and Keith are correct, vampires -he chuckled- have a harder time with family. But, considering my own family considers you to be a member, I do as well" He said, leaning against the wall, and wrapping his arms around Kristen. He didn't want her to be stressed.

Keith smiled, "Nice speech, did you rehearse?" He teased, trying to ease the seriousness and tension of the moment.
Demitri stuck out his tounge, "Loser" The vampire grumbled under his breath.

Both Alayna, and Kristen smiled at Demitri. Kristen's smile soon turned into a grin. She had been right. The thought sent a weird feeling through her that subsided as Demitri wrapped his arms around her. Kristen looked at him for a moment, eyes bright and happy. She sighed, resting her head under his chin, somehow knowing she didn't have to say anyting else. "It did sound a bit rehearsed didn't it?" Kristen asked Keith, bitting on her tongue. She would never miss a chance to tease the vampire, it was too much fun.


Alayna smiled at Demitri, and laughed at Kristen and Keith. She sat quietly, enjoying the moment completely. Everything was perfect. Her eyes wandered over each of her friends for a moment, hoping to burn their image into her mind permenatly. This was her family now....Alayna muttered to herself as she rubbing the water from her eyes feriously.

"Totally, that's probably why he had to leave the room" Keith said conversaionally to Kristen. He laughed and smiled at Alayna, "Think you can handle a family like ours love? We're not exactly the most normal of people" He said with teasing wink.

Demitri kissed the top of Kristen's head and stuck his tounge out at Keith.
"Watch it, or we'll find out who's better in a fight, angels or vampires" Demitri teased Keith.
"Huh, I didn't think vampires were that stupid. I mean challanging an angel" Keith teased back, grinning as Demitri narrowed his eyes.

Alayna chuckled, and then laughed, rubbing her eyes roughly again. She muttered something to herself again before letting her hand drop. "Yea. I think so." she said quietly, looking between Keith and Demitri as the talked.

Kristen smiled, and then shook her head. She laughed outright at Keith and bit her lip as she turned to look at Demitri. "Ooo...I think that was a challenege hun." she said, laughing. It was all good fun, and they all knew it.

Demitri tensed, a low smirk coming from him as suddenly, all in one smooth motion, he moved Kristen to the side and had Keith, gently, pinned to the floor.
"Uh what was that? I think Angels should watch their mouths" He teased as Keith looked startled. The angel laughed, but concentrated for a moment, and then, suddenly Demitri was lying on the floor. Keith standing over by Kristen. Growling instinctively, the vampire turned, lunging at Keith again and carefully pinning him to the wall.
"Angel magic" He grumbled, as Keith laughed. The two struggled for a few more minutes.
"Tie?" Keith finally asked Demitri, whom nodded.
"Tie"

Alayna watched, or attempted to follow the two boys as they fought. Her jaw dropped slightly as Demitri pinned Keith, and then they tussled some more. She wasn't sure if she should cheer them on, or try to stop it. Instead, she sat frozen on the bed before the two called it a tie.

Kristen on the other hand, was able to follow the enitre fight. She laughed slightly in the right places, but otherwise remained quiet. She clapped gently as the fight was called and she shook her head. "Boys..." Kristen said, glancing over at Alayna with a slight wink. Alayna sighed and just shook her head.

"Are awsome" Demitri said, finishing Kristen's sentence as he walked back over to her, wrapping her in his arms and settling his back against the wall. He winked at Alayna, she wasn't used to seeing him and Keith 'fight' like that, but it happened quiet regularly.
"Come to the gym sometime, you can watch the guys from the team go at it. Funniest thing ever. They have a special screen that slows down the action so people can actually watch" He told her, grinning. He kissed the top of Kristen's head, smilng against her hair.

Keith laughed, "You alright love, Demitri and I do that on a rather regular basis" He told her gently, not wanting her to believe they were actually fighting or something.

"Mmm...not exactly the words I was looking for..." Kristen said as Demitri finished her sentence. Alayna understood where Kristen was going with it though, so she let it be. She smiled as Demitri wrapped his arms around her again, leaning against him automatically. She felt him smiling and was glad that he was happy.

Alayna smiled at Kristen and Demitri. "Yea, sure." she said, laughing quietly. "I'm ok. Just...wasn't expecting that really..." she said honestly. "Does everything happen in the gym?" Alayna asked, looking from Keith to Demitri.
Kristen shrugged. "Pretty much..."

"Well the gym's idiot proof, and when you have this many students, particularly vampires and werewolves at one school, stuff is bound to happen" Demitri said, stuttering over the word 'werewolf'.
"So the gym's a good place for students to vent, not mention that pretty much everything sports based happens there" The vampire said, his voice slightly muffled by Kristen's hair.

"Yea, the gyms the place to be" Keith said with a small smile. He didn't spend much time there, but Demitri practicaly lived in the gym.

"I wouldn't say idiot proof. Laura and her crew hang around there." Kristen said, laughing slightly at her own joke. "Definatly a place to vent. Though, I prefer the forest. Less people..." she said quietly looking back out the window.

Alayna nodded as she listened and chuckled at Kristen. "Gives me a headache being in there sometimes..." she muttered. "Too many people." she nodded in agreement with Kristen.

"I like it, most of my friends hang out in there" Demitri said with a small, casual shrug. He sighed, stretching his arms over his head for a moment before returning his arms to around Kristen. He sighed, content.

Keith nodded, "Yea, I don't spend a lot of time there, except to watch sports really.

Kristen nodded before stepping away from Demitri as he strecthed. Her gaze fell back out the window, over-looking the campus in the setting sun. Her eyes fell to the few people who still roamed around the grounds. Her pulled herself away from Demitri, frowning. Kristen's eyes had fallen on one person, and it sent icy through viens. She didn't let her anger or fear show on her face though. "Um...I'll be right back..." she said distantly, turning away from the window to leave the room.


Alayna smirked, looking at Demitri then Keith. "You're almost like opposites..." she said, chuckling and shaking her head. Her eyes fell on Kristen as the shifter tensed then annouced that she was leaving. "Whoa, what's-" her sentence was lost due to Kristen slamming the door. She looked back at Keith with fear before up at Demitri.

Demitri watched Kristen, eyes wide with confusion. He had felt how tense she was, something was stressing her out, badly. He turned, looking out the window, hoping to see something. Nothing, or whatever it was, was gone now. He glanced at the others, his eyes landing on Alayna, she looked worried.
"Does any of this feel familiar?" He asked her, his voice urgent, worried now. His tone had a dangerous bite to it, as his anxiety levels rose.

Keith watched Kristen leave before turning to look at Alayna as well. He winced at the harsh tone Demitri took, but there was nothing he could really do about it. He wrapped his arms around Alayna, as if he were trying to protect her from the vampire's harsh tones.

Alayna swallowed down hard. She forced herself to calm down enough to speak. "I-I don't know. This didn't happen. The first thing I saw was Kristen arguing with someone, but it was too dark to see who." She said, shaking her head as Keith wrapped his arms around her.


Kristen pushed open the dorm building door, stepping out into the brisk night air. She looked around the campus. Where had he gone? Ignoring the beating of her heart, Kristen forced herself out towards the center of the campus. Kristen cursed, turning around sharply. She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. The boy was gone. Kristen shook her head and rubbed her forehead letting out the breath she had held in.

Demitri nodded, taking a deep, useless breath.
"Okay" He said through locked teeth. He began to pace the room, once again anxious and worried. He could follow Kristen's scent, but it was hard, with some many students at this school, and their scents all intermingling it was near impossible to track anyone. He winced a bit, glancing anxiously out the window. She wasn't in his sight line, which worried him, a lot.

Keith watched Demitri pace, it was normal when the vampire was aggrivated, although he had rarely seen him this worked up.
"It's alright love, Kristen might have just seen something she didn't expect. We don't know that it was anything to do with the dream" He said, addressing Demitri in the last part.

Alayna rested her eyes on Demitri as the vampire paced for a moment and she shook her head. "No, Keith...I-I don't like this." she said quietly. "The man's a mage. What if he wanted Kristen to see whatever she saw?" Alayna turned back to Demitri and shook her head. She stood up from the bed to look back out the window. Kristen wasn't anywhere to be found. She muttered to herself worriedly.

Kristen sighed, sitting down on a near by bench. She might have just mistaken someone for him. What were the chances that the shifter responsible for her attack over the summer would be here? Kristen rubbed her forehead, her head in her hands for a moment. Looking back up, Kristen realized the sun was setting. She cursed, standing up and walking back towards the dorm building.

Demitri turned, gaping at Alayna. His fist smashed into, then through the wall, leaving a huge hole. He growled warningly, his nerves wound so tightly it would take nothing to cause the tall vampire to snap. He resumed is watch out the window, his eyes darting, searching for Kristen. Finally he saw her, walking inside. A small, barely audiable breath of relief escaped his barely parted lips, but he wouldn't relaxe until she was safely in his arms again.

Keith winced as Demitri punched through the wall, literally.
"Shh" He murmured to Alayna, her worrying wasn't helping Demitri's mindset, and an aggriavted vampire could easily destroy the room, and the occupants. He wrapped his arms around Alayna, eyes never leaving the vampire.

Alayna flinched as Demitri punched through the wall and she let Keith wrap his arms around her. She sighed closing her mouth shut. She was afraid to speak, lest she upset Demitri anymore.

Kristen stopped, one head over the dorm building door. She looked back over her shoulder, feeling someone's eyes on her. Remembering Alayana's dream, Kristen shuddered and ran into the building. Walking up to her dorm, Kristen took her time. She was going to have to explain her actions to everyone...Kristen sighed, running her fingers through her hair.

Demitri saw Kristen make it inside, and turned, eyes trained on the door, mouth set. He glanced at Keith and Alayna, but didn't feel to bad about scaring them, not yet. He crossed his arms, fidgiting impatiently, waiting anxiously for Kristen. His eyes flashed around the room, he couldn't remain still, not right now.

Keith smiled at Alayna, hoping he was helping reassure her. Demitri looked downright scary right now, like a vampire from myths or legends. He had only seen him this way a few times, and it was never a pretty sight. He noticed the vampire watching the door, and knew Kristen would join them soon.

Alayna let out a long breath as Kristen opened the door. The girl looked stressed, but at the moment Alayna could care less. "What were you thinking?!" Alayna asked, not exactly thinking herself as she pulled away from Keith.

Kristen looked over at Alayna with blank eyes. "I was thinking that the shifter who attacked me over the summer had followed me here, and I was hoping to beat him to the punch of finding me." her voice was emtionless as she stared at Alayna. The girl swallowed hard before sitting back down on the bed and her eyes fell back to the sheets. Kristen looked over at Demitri, whispering an apology. She knew the vampire was probably worried sick.

It took Demitri nano seconds to reach Kristen. He pulled her into his arms, mentally reminding himself not to hold her to hard.
"Never do that again" He said, his voice soft, so only she could hear. He buried his face against the side of her neck, resting his cheek on her shoulder, before straightening.
"Do you really think that shifter's here?" He asked, his voice rough. He didn't like the idea of anyone hurting her, and if there was someone around who had, or had the intentions of harming her, they would have to deal with him, which wouldn't be overly amusing.

Keith gaped at Alayna, and thanked god when the shifter didn't yell at her or something. Alayna would have to be careful about saying things like that around Demitri and Kristen, the two were very independant, and didn't like being 'looked after' so to speak.

Kristen sighed as Demitri held her, still tense. "If he is..." she said looking up at him. "You have got to let me deal with this one." her eyes grew serious and pleading as she looked over his face. "If you try to intervine it will only make matters worse." She wasn't sure if Demitri would understand what she meant, and she doubted he would listen but it was worth a shot.

Alayna shook her head slightly, leaning back against Keith with her eyes closed. Maybe it really only was a dream....she thought sighing.
