Demitri nodded, "Sure" He said, letting her basically drag him along, he figured he might as well get used to it. He wanted to talk to Keith anyway, he hadn't had much of a chance to see his friend lately, and he wanted to check on Alayna as well. He automatically began to feel tense though, mainly because of what had happened to Kristen last time she and Alayna had been together. Not that he blamed Alayna, just that he was that protective of Kristen.

"You are the most beautiful girl I know" Keith said, grinning. "Red, puffy eyes and all" He said, smiling at her.
"Why thank you" He said, smiling brightly.

Kristen smirked, at Demitri. She felt him tense, and her smirk disappeared. This protectiveness was going to take a lot of getting used to, she realized. Reaching her dorm room, Kristen opened the door slowly. Seeing Keith and Alayna, Kristen smiled. "Hiya..."


Alayna felt herself blush. "Uh-huh." she said as Kristen walked into the room with Demitri. Her eyes went wide and she quickled looked away from the two of them. She walked over to the window, not wanting them to see that she had been crying.

Demitri smiled brittly as he stepped in the room.
"Hey.." He said softly, nodding to Keith. He had seen the tears in Alayna's eyes before she had turned, but he didn't say anything. He smiled apologetically at Kristen, knowing he was probably getting on her nerves. He stepped into the room, looking slightly akward.

Keith smiled at the two.
"Hey guys" He grinned, turning in time to see Alayna turn away. She probably didn't want them to see her upset.
"What's up?" He noticed Demitri's actions and knew the vampire was tense.

Kristen let go of Demitri's hand to walk over to Alayna. The girl's shoulders were tense, which told Kristen that Alayna knew what would come next. Kristen asked anyway. "You alright?" Kristen asked quietly. Alayna stared out the window and simply nodded. "Fine." she muttered. Kristen nudged the girl affectionatly. Alayna turned slightly to look at the shifter.

Kristen smirked. "Still here." she muttered. Alayna sighed, and shook her head before looking back out the window. "Sun hasn't set yet." Kristen gave up, and looked out of the window as well. Her eyes scanned the grounds below them and she tilted her head.

She looked over her shoulder at Keith. "Did you see the whole fiascal with Laura?" she asked curiously. From this vantage point, they two would've had a clear view of the tree Kristen and Demitri had been resting under.

Demitri sat down gingerly on Kristen's bed. He glanced around, trying deliberatly not to let himself overhear Kristen and Alayna's conversation. He glanced out the window, nearly laughing. He knew Keith and the same oppinion of Laura that he did.
Laura was quiet a pain, and he remembered her harassing Keith when he had first arrived at the school.

"Yea we did. I figured you guys didn't need the help though" Keith said, laughing a bit.
"Nah, we were fine" Demitri said, relaxing a bit. Keith sighed, knowing why his friend was so tense, and feeling sort of responislbe for it.

Kristen chuckled. "The only thing I needed help with was not tearing her head off this time." She muttered. "She was really laying it on thick..." Kristen said, turning around to lean against the window sill.

Alayna nodded and walked over to Keith, sitting on the bed next to him quietly. "I thought you guys were going to fight." she said honestly, looking from Demitri to Kristen." The shifter shrugged, folding her arms over her chest.

Demitri laughed, "Laura's all talk. She wouldn't want to risk bruising herself" He said, standing and walking over to Kristen. He leaned himself against the wall, hand immediatly winding it's way around her waist. It was second nature at this point, complete second nature. He smiled, "Besides, she wouldn;t have gotten anywhere. She's to much of a coward" He said, smiling at Kristen.

Keith nodded, "That's why I didn't bother interdeding. Was she being weird though?" He asked Kristen. He had never really been on the recieving end of Laura, even after he had turned her down.

Kristen chuckled as Demitri wrapped his hand around her waist. She let her arms drop and she shrugged at Keith. "A bit. Kept going on about how cute she and Demitri would look together since she's had cheerleader and he's the star of the team." she said, rolling her eyes.

Alayna looked at Kristen, half wondering if the shifter was being serious or not. "Really?" she finally asked.

Kristen nodded. "That's how out there she is. Never comes down to planet Earth even to breathe..." she muttered, shaking her head slightly. Alayna inhaled deeply, mouthing the word 'wow', and scracthing the back of her head.

Demitri laughed, "She's pretty oblivious to the real world. She's gotten everything she's ever wanted, so when I turned her down, she sort of flipped, deciding that if she couldn't have me, no one could. It's extremely childish and immature, but there's not much I, or anyone else can really do about it" Demitri said, sighing a bit.

Keith nodded, "Yea, I remember one time, in the gym, one girl asked Demitri for directions, Laura flipped and through a pepsi at the girl, completely ruining her shirt. Funniest reaction I've seen in awhile"
Demitri grimaced. "Poor girl. I felt awful"

Kristen laughed, remembering that day clearly. "Oh that poor girl. Never saw it coming either." she said, shaking her head. "Laura will get over it eventually..." Kristen muttered, turning to look out the window again.

Alayna's jaw dropped. "Are you serious?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at Keith. "That's ridiculous..." she muttered. "So she won't let any girl even talk to you?" she asked, looking over at Demitri.

"She tries to keep other girls from talking to me, but I completely ignore her" Demitri said, shaking his head. "She has to learn she can't have everything she wants" The tall vampire said grinning.
"Yea, that was ridiculius, poor girl. Laura doesn't realize that everyone has feelings and emotions" He grumbled, rolling her head.

Keith sighed, "She's certainly a piece of work. Careful around her Alayna, she can be extremely cruel. Odviously she hasn't realize that Demitri has a room mate yet" He laughed softly, but winced. He'd have to keep a careful eye on Alayna until they were sure Laura was going to 'play nice'

Kristen sighed as s small breeze blew past the window. This was nice. No trouble, no worries...well there were worries but no problems...hardly any drama...well, they could handle the drama. Kristen smiled, turning to look back at everyone as Alayna laughed. Her smile softened. This was home.


Alayna smirked. "I got an idea. Let's keep up this whole 'Demitri-has-a-human-for-a-room-mate thing." she said, folding her legs as she bounced on the bed. Her happy, playful and childish mood back in a blink of an eye. There was a sly gleam in her eyes that Kristen had never seen, it made her laugh.
"Why?" Kristen asked. Alayna turned to her with those sly eyes and she smiled.
"That way I have an ace up my sleeve if anyone tries to pull a fast one on me." she said, as if Kristen should already know this. "Espically if Laura finds out Demitri's roommate is a girl. She's bond to try something." Alayna said, bitting her tongue with a chuckle.
Kristen laughed outright and shook her head. "I think we're a bad influence on you Alayna..." she said
Alayna's face fell for a moment. "I haven't been here that long."

Demitri arched an eyebrow at Alayna, "That would be hilarious..." He said, grinning.
"No, you haven't been here that long, but the entire time you've been here, you've been with us" He said, grinning broadly. He pulled Kristen into his arms automatically as the wind picked up. He smiled against her hair, it was weird. Kristen had been spending more time with him in his room then in her own with Keith.

Keith laughed, "That is an interesting idea" He said, he didn't like the idea of anyone going after Alayna in general, but perhaps her ability would be better if she kept it secret for now.

Kristen sighed as Demitri pulled her towards him. She didn't mind at all. She chuckled at Alayna and shook her head. "Demitri is right...." Kristen said. "You've been with us practically 24/7..."

Alayna shrugged. "Well you guys are my friends..." she said. "Probably the only friends I'll have at this school." she smiled at Demitri and Kristen before looking back at Keith.

"I'm pretty sure some other people consider you to be there friends. Mainly like the entire soccer and hockey team" Demitri said, resting his head on Kristen's shoulder. He kissed her neck carefully, no longer craving her blood at all, ever. He sighed, closing his eyes for a moment before flicking them open and grinning at Alayna.
"We've all be together pretty much 24/7 this year" Demitri said softly.

Keith smiled at Alayna, "I agree with Demitri. You'll have many more friends here. As well as your old friends. I'm sure they will want to hear what you're up to. With some editing of course" He siad softly. He looked at Demitri and Kristen, smiling. They were adorable together.

"Hey.." Kristen whispered as Demitri's lips brushed against her neck. It sent a shiver down her spin. Just like whenhe had kissed her ear. She chuckled looking over at Keith and Alayna, thinking the same thing the angel was thinking.

Alayna smirked at Demitri. "I guess it pays to have a vampire as a roommate huh?" She asked, chuckling. "Well...I'll have friends but you guys are more than that now...too much has happened." She looking to Demitri, slightly accusingly but in a sisterly way.

Demitri caught Alayna's look and plastered one of innocence on his face. He whistled, almost mockingly.
"What? Are you accusing me of something?" He teased, shaking his head, still looking ridiculously innocent.

Keith rolled his eyes, "Vampires" He grumbled, winking at Kristen and sticking his tounge out at Demitri.
"Can't trust them" He said, smiling to show he was only teasing though.

Kristen chuckled at Keith and shook her head at Demitri. "I'm siding with Alayna on this one." she said, pulling away from the vampire to look at him. "Too much has happened for her not to be part of the family, I think..." She smiled, turning back to Alayna with the soft look on her face.


Alayna's expression slowly disappeared. She looked to Keith for a moment, smiling at him. "Well, I trust him." she said before looking back at Kristen. Her smile lessened slightly, and her face turned to that of momentary disbelief. "Really?" she asked quietly, looking from the shifter, to Demitri before turning to look at Keith.

Demitri looked thoughtful, family was an extremely hard thing for a vampire to handle. Particularly when the members could be so short lived. He frowned, but inclined his head a fraction.
"I'd say you're family" He mumbled, hiding his face against Kristen's neck again, feeling akward. He wasn't sure what to say, he liked Alayna, a lot, but family. Well it was true, she had been through more drama then he cared to remember with them, particularly when she could've just left.

Keith smiled at Alayna, "Of course love, you became family for me the first day we met" He said, smiling shyly. He glanced at Demitri, eyes wide. He knew Kristen would understand the huge significance of the vampire's words, even if Alayna did not.

Kristen tried to not shudder visibly as Demitri hid against her neck. She sighed and smiled at Alayna. "I think you are." she nodded, as if to make the statement permanet.

The girl blushed at Keith before half-way tackling him with a hung. She smiled at him before slidding off the bed. Kristen pulled herself away from Demitri to give Alayna the same hug, laughing. "You are such a child..." Kristen murmured. Alayna merely shrugged. She looked over at Demitri for a moment. She titled her head slightly before outstrecthing her arms in a silent question. Somehow, she had a feeling things were different for Demitri then they were with Kristen and Keith.

The vampire reluctantly let Kristen go, smiling momentarily while the three hugged. He froze, stiffening as she held out her arms for him. He had never hugged someone before, well besides Kristen, and his brothers. He looked at his friend's eyes questioning. This wasn't easy for him, not by a long shot. Tentitively he stepped forward, sliding his arms around Alayna, hoping his skin wasn't to cold for her. It lasted for perhaps a few seconds, but it was enough to severly mess with the vampire's head. He broke away, immediatly resuming his place on the wall.

Keith watched Demitri, looking over Alayna's head at Kristen. He knew that this was hard and weird for Keith, but he breathed a small, very small sigh of relief as Demitri hugged Alayna. It was brief, but it was enough.

Alayna smiled at Demitri afterwards, hoping the hug wasn't wrong or out of place or something of another. She smiled at Kristen for a moment before resuming her place back on the bed beside Keith.

Kristen chuckled, shaking her head at the child. She had watched the hug wearingly, silently praying that it wouldn't bother Demitri. Even if Alayna was now one of them, she was still human. Walking over to the window, Kristen turned her head back into the wind. "You ok?" she asked, softly, quietly, loud enough for only Demitri to hear.

Keith wrapped his arms around Alayna, smiling. He knew she didn't understand what really had transpired, but he'd tell her later. Or Kristen would, probably Kristen, she understood the vampire a little better.

Demitri's head inclined a fraction, but he looked stressed.
"I'm gonna go get a drink" He said, rather suddenly. "I'll be back in like ten minutes" He told Kristen. He knew she'd understand, he was giving her and Keith and oppertunity to explain to Alayna what had just happened, while giving him a chance to go and think about what had just transpired. Moving too fast for human eyes, Demitri disappeared out of the room, heading towards the gym. Coach was giving them their blood now, none of the team was trusting the cafeteria's stuff.

Kristen sighed but nodded, looking away from him as he left. The next thing she saw of him was the gym door opening. Goosebumps ran over her arms from the wind that blew past the window, and Kristen shuddered before turning away. She leaned against the window sill, sitting with her back exposed to the open window. She didn't fear for falling out, if she did, hey shifting was amazing.


Alayna smiled and dug herself against Keith as he wrapped his arms around her. She couldn't hear Kristen, but she heard Demitri. She made the mistake of blinking, and then the vampire was gone. Alayna's smile soon faded as the room grew silent. "Is he going to be alright?" she asked, looking up at Keith.

Keith looked at Kristen.
"Do you want to explain? You're better at it then I am" He said, knowing she'd understand what he was talking about. He smiled at Alayna, "He'll be fine, Kristen's better at understand the whole vampire thing, so she can probably better explain to you why he's behaving that way" He said, smiling at the shape shifter.

Demitri walked into the gym, looking a little depressed. He walked up to the Coach's office and stepped in.
"Hey, just needed something to drink" He said by way of explenation as the man looked up. "Oh, sure, catch" A bottle filled with thick, red liquid was tossed at the vampire, whom effortlessly caught it.
"Thanks" He said, turning and leaving. He wasn't ready to be asked any questions just yet. He tok a deep breath, trying to calm his turmoiled mind. Family Had he just really allowed himself to become attatched to a mortal like that. He winced.
