Blood Lust

Lilith continued what she was doing, even though she knew what was behind her. I'm not gonna make it out of here alive either way. She thought fighting fiercer.

The figure growled. He was wearing a flowing black cloak that shrouded his face in shadow, and kept his body from view. "You have escaped my blade more than once, but you shan't escape it again!", he snarled. He raised his scythe and readied to strike.

Lilith continued ripping at the flesh, wondering how much longer she had.

Alex saw that the Reaper was directly behind Lilith. He growled. "Hey, Reaper!", he said. The creature snarled and turned to face Alex. "What do you want?", he growled. Alex smirked and threw about 20 daggers at Reaper, all of them hitting their mark. The Reaper growled and vanished, to find a palce to recover.

Lilith sighed in relief before looking at Alex. "Thanks." She said, smiling a little.

Selena continued to cry like she had been doing. She had no hope left. No faith. Nothing to make her want to move on. To fight what was happening. She had given and in her mind she was just waiting for the unavoidable.

Alex resumed the playing of his violin, and eventually managed to increase the speed so much that his hand became invisible, and the songs were reduced to an angelic, supersonic screech. Death and Carnage shrieked and felt backwards, into the Lake of Burning Sulphur. Alex abruptly stopped playing, resulting in a short shriek and then silence. THere was a long period of near-silence, the only osund being the tired panting of Sire, ezeriuth, and Alex. A large ornate door appeared. "tHat's our way home..."

Selena stopped crying a little upon hearing the word 'home.' Home... She thought, ... My home... is not the place I wish to be... She held her breath for a little to help the crying slow and stop all together.

Lilith covered her ears. The supersonic screech had hurt her, too. But not as much as it had hurt Death and Carnage.

"Hopefully they'll stay there for a while...", Alex said. Sire shrunk down and scurried over to Alex. "Master, we hve done what God himself could not have done without destroying the world! We had defeated Satan, the Grim Reaper, and the Four Horsemen in one day!", he said. Alex smiled. "We haven't defeated them, Sire. Just delayed them. They'll be back."

Selena realized that she must have fallen to her knees while she was crying. Weakly, cautiously, she rose from the ground.

Lilith had an annoyed look on her face. "Did you really have to make it that strong?" She asked.

"Yes. Yes I did. I'm still not too happy about you breaking into my house and trying to kill me.", Alex said. "And I can do it again, by the way."

Lilith pinned her ears back like an angry wolf. "Fine." She almost snarled.

Selena took a few steps forward and stumbled.

Alex rushed forward to catch Sabrina if she fell.

Selena let Alex catch her and she remained still except for her breathing. Life had been stressful since she met Alex. Maybe she was beginning to fall ill. Maybe that's why she felt so tired. She closed her eyes slowly, still conscious. Her heartbeat slowed and her breathing grew faint. She was still awake, but in poor condition.

Lilith straightened up and stared at Selena. For once she was honestly concerned about the health of the mortal girl. Perhaps it was her new transformation. Her new self. Maybe it was because she remembered being human and having no one there to catch her every time she fell. She couldn't quite say why, but she suddenly cared for Selena.

"Selena, are you ok?" ,Alex asked. "I'll get you out of here."

Selena didn't speak out she let out a quiet "Mhm..." though she still didn't open her eyes. Breathe in... Breath out... In... Out.... In... Out... She thought, focusing on her breathing so that it didn't stop without her knowing. She didn't plan on passing out, she didn't want to pass out.

Lilith had a remorseful look on her face. Did I cause all of this? She thought.

"Lilith, you didn't cause any of this...", Alex said.

Lilith blinked a tear out of her eye. "Thank you..." She said before turning around to make her leave.

Selena continued her faint breathing. Focus... She thought to herself. In... Out... In... Out...

Alex carried Selena to the door back to the surface.

Selena lay limp in Alex's arms. Help me... please... She thought.

Lilith sprinted away, she didn't want to get caught up in the emotional drama that was sure to follow.

Alex brought Selena back to her room at his home. "Get some rest."

Selena was already asleep by the time Alex brought her to the room. "Nnnn..." She muttered in her sleep.

Alex laid her down o nthe be dand covere dher with a blanket. He left the room and went to practice his violin.

Selena's breathing was still weak and faint. A few times it stopped for a short period of time before resuming.

Sire watched over Selena while she slept, to make sure she was ok.
