1X1 with Fire

Kayden barred his teeth in dislike of the other human. To anger the animals on their planet was to anger the gods, which was an insulting thing to do. He glanced at Draven, who was doing his best not to laugh, so he summarized that whatever had occured must have been highly amusing.
He glanced up, seeing the large ship for the first time, slowly beginning to decend in the nearby field.
"How many?" He asked, meaning the humans, they could only sustain so many on their planet, since there was only one large city, and they would not have the forest ruined.

He frowned, suddenly wondering where the humans would stay, or if their ship was livable for while they were here. His ears pricked again, catching the noise of the grass being flattened and animals calling out in distress. He growled, a sound mimicked by all the Keryons around him as his group, and some randoms began to reveal themselves to the humans. He knew he'd have to escort the leader to his brother so they could discuss the politics of this situation, but it was clear his people were highly uncomfortable with the arrangment.

Draven left Zara and Russel standing together talking in order to approach Kayden.
"What do you make of them?" He asked, using their native tounge.
"They are odd, they seem to think of us as almost hostile, it concerns me that we are allying ourselves with them" Kayden responded, glancing back at Zara and Russel.

Zara turned and watched the ship slowly come down, making her feel somewhat better. She looked over at the Keryon she had been talking to and said, "There are twenty-three on the ship, and we can live in there comfortably." She didn't want to have to worry him about large numbers or how they were going to survive there.

She glanced over at Russel saying, "So the tough guy got chased by a spider, eh?" She laughed a bit before he glared at her and said, "Niccals is not going to be happy that you contacted them and immediately initiated peace."
"I don't want to fight them, we were sent here to help," she almost hissed at him through her teeth. She was never fond of Russel, but this definitely wasn't helping. The Keryons new English, and was pretty sure they could hear what they were saying now.

She looked around seeing many others appear, and she had no idea where they had come from. They had been letting out growls, which made her nervous, but maybe it was just a common thing the species did? She readjusted the earpiece before saying, "I want to speak to Niccals first when we meet up with him. I don't need you giving me a bad name and getting grounded in the ship." She kept getting the feeling that just because she was a girl, she would be more likely to get orders to stay on the ship. She frowned at this thought before looking back at the Keryons.

Kayden glanced around, waiting impatiently for this so-called commander to appear. He could hear Zara and Russel speaking, and the male was annoyed over the peace agreement, that worried him slightly. He caught Draven's eye and could tell they were both thinking the same thing, while they had the man and fire power to deal with these humans, they did need their help with this space pirates problem.
"Do you think their intentions are not all pure?" Draven asked, "From what the male says, no, it seems more like a scouting mission, instead of an aid one" Kayden replied, glancing around at the others.

"It will prove to be problematic if they do not come here with the idea of peace" Kayden growled, his tail smacking the ground again and again.
"I do not wish to engage them in combat, nor forcibly remove them from our soil, but if I must, I must" He glanced around at the two humans again, motioning for them to come forward.
"I assume you wish to speak with your superiors before I do, so I suggest you do so now" He nodded at the group of humans coming into the clearing they were in.

The appearance of the group enticed angered growls, and some roars from his people, though he made not attempt to calm them. This was a Keryon display of defence and power, and he would not stop his people from reminding the human visitors whos home they had come to.

Zara saw the group coming, and the growls that came with it. She, even though still scared by them, was beginning to get used to the growls. She watched the others, seeing their faces as they saw the Keryons, and how they looked at her like she was crazy. She jogged over to them, saluting at her commander. She then stated, "The species are named Keryons, they know English, and have no intention of hostility. They just want help with their problem."
She watched as Niccals looked her over and said, "I'm assuming the air is safe too?" She nodded and he added, "You are also speaking out of term. I was supposed to make contact first. You must listen to orders exactly, is that understood?"
Zara nodded again, much more angry this time. She then said, "Yes sir." She walked over towards the back of the group. No one else seemed to retract their helmets, even Russel had put his back on. She was getting sick of everyone listening to Niccals, he drove her bonkers. She watched as he walked up over to the Keryons, she was sure this was going to be entertaining.
However, she had lost her interest rather quickly in this. Her interest was more turning into the thought of how things were going to turn out.

Kayden's ears flicked as he obsereved the girl speaking to the man, the one he assumed was in charge. He chuckled, watching the exchange with curiosity, in his opinion a commander who didn't listen to those who served under him was setting themselves up for disaster.
He kept his tense, yet relaxed posture as the man approached.
"Unfortunately our King is unable to be here to greet you, however, I am crown Prince of Keryonce and the leader of our military" He said, "I am pleased that someone responded to our distress signal, and once I better understand your intentions on our planet, I can introduce you to our capital and to our King" He said, his voice stiff, a dangerous, hard edge in the undertone.

He shifted his weight slightly, revelling in the fact that he towered over the man. His tail lashed the ground again, "I am called Kayden by my friends and those whom I consider to be worthy of knowing my name" He said, formally introducing himself to the man. Keryons had no last names, since names were bestowed by the gods, and no one was named the same. If people did not know his name, they were to call him 'Prince', 'Highness' or 'Commander'.

Zara watched from the distance, this should be interesting.
Commander Niccals looked the creature up and down before saying, "Good to meet the military leader. I am Commander James Niccals, military leader of his operation." The man paused, he knew the height and strength difference, but he didn't let it get to him. He then stated, "Our intention on your planet is to respond to your stress-signal, and if all goes well, form an alliance with your species."
Zara wasn't sure how the meeting was going, she did feel uncomfortable just standing there though. She knew she shouldn't wander off, but she was getting bored and fed up with the situation. Being the back she was able to leave the other humans without being noticed, but she assumed that other Keryons probably noticed.
She walked over into a clearing, not seeing anything large or dangerous around for the moment. She watched the trees and the plant-life below her, in awe of everything. She just wanted to get lost into the adventure, not become hostile towards the natives here, it seemed wrong. She had no idea what Commander Niccals intentions were now, but she was beginning to get worried.

Kayden inhaled, scenting the emotions of the man, sensing his fear, wanting to be sure of his next move.
"I am also pleased to speak with one with military knoweldge" He responded, glancing around curiously at his companions, they looked stiff, anxious, which in turn worried him slightly.
"I cannot discuss the matters of an alliance with you, without the presence and understanding of our leader, but for the time being, you are welcome on our planet, and we will greatly appreciate your support with our current situation" He paused, "I do not know if you understand the situation at hand, but our planet is currently the target of Onfre, a planet known for its pirating and disrespect for other species and planets. They are currently engaged with my planet in a nasty war, and we requested aid to prevent the imminent destruction of our planet"

Draven had fallen back, away from Kayden and had watched the human female wander off. Chuckling to himself, the large, black furred male followed after her.
"It is not safe for one so small, so defenceless to be wandering about in the wild jungles of Keryonce" He said as he approached her from behind.
"I take it the politics between our two species are not exactly amusing you?" He was bored as well, but he was better at hiding it. Keryons were long lived, much longer the humans, his life span was in the high hundreds if not low thousands, he was about four hundred years old, as was Kayden. The King was about six hundered, and still young by the species' standards.

Niccals nodded and said, "Understood." He then paused and added, "Military officials are welcome into our ships' board-room for discussion on the current issue at hand, and to help with decisions on how to attack the problem." He looked Kayden over one last time before saying, "It is a pleasure meeting you, and if you'll excuse us, we must go back to the ship and begin planning our end of the work." He himself wasn't exactly sure what that entailed, but he mainly wanted to leave back to the ship just to talk with others. He wanted to assess the current situation and see where to go from there.

Zara jumped slightly hearing someone talk again. She turned around seeing another Keryon, the one that had been talking with Kayden earlier. She looked at him before saying, "Do your species usually like to jump out from behind people? It's happened twice to me now." She let out a nervous laugh before also adding, "I'm not really one for politics." She knew she would regret it, but she also muttered out, "And I can't stand the Commander, he was poorly chosen for the assignment." She looked up at the Keryon, curious as to why he had decided to leave too. Maybe he was just curious as to what she was doing? She actually had wanted to wander off and maybe find that city Kayden had been talking about. It sounded interesting, and she was hoping it wouldn't be that far off seeing how many Keryons were there.

Kayden nodded, "I will discuss your agreement and our discussion with our monarch, and can assure you he will grant you an audiance or come to visit within the next day or so" He responded, "I thank you once again, if your people are in need of anything, this is a communicator, it has a direct link to myself, so call me" He handed the man the small device.
"I must ask that you do not explore the forest without a guide or permission, many of our plants and animals are sacred, and the forest is a dangerous place. I can arrange anything you may need" He said, nodding before basically dismissing the man.

Draven chuckled, "This wouldn't be considered sneaking up on someone of my kind" He explained, "We all have exceptional hearing, I was merely being polite by the standards of my people" He shrugged, "Kayden was being sneaky, but he had to be sure of the situation" He sighed, "Politics are rather boring, but they are necessary, unfortunately" He didn't comment on the statement she made about the man, but stored the information away for later to share with the others.
"I am sorry you are bored, but the meeting is breaking up by the sound of it, and I can't allow you to continue to wander in the forest alone, it is unsafe" He sighed, "If you're interested though, I can arrange for someone to show you around our home, we aren't far from our capital, Kern, the only city on the planet, and I'm sure Kayden or myself would be willing to show you around later. If you can get permission"

Niccals nodded and said, "Thank you for arranging the audience, and we will discuss plans of touring the area." After the two had left from talking with each other, he turned to the group of humans and made a signal showing them to leave. He looked around noticing Crawley wasn't there, but he was hoping she had gotten eaten by a creature so he wouldn't have to deal with her later. She was being very stubborn when it came to orders, and he didn't enjoy that.

Zara laughed a little and said, "Well I guess I'm deaf compared to you guys then." She then looked around the forest, slightly disappointed that she couldn't explore now. It didn't look dangerous to her, but what did she know? She then said, "I would like that, thanks." She was looking forward to getting to see the place, and if she didn't get permission she would probably go anyway. At this point she would rather be on better terms with the Keryons than her Commander; he didn't seem fond of her actions. She smiled and said, "I'm Zara Stuart by the way, nice meeting you." She wasn't sure if the Keryon was willing to give his name, but at least she could give him hers so they could talk later if need be.

Kayden nodded, a frown appearing on his face one the man left. Muttering in his own tounge, he set off back into the forest, heading towards his home, or to the palace to speak to his brother. His meeting with the commander had bothered him immensely, and set him on edge. He glanced around, seeing the others watching him curiously, "You are dismissed, we will meet tomorrow at the training field. For now, Sana and Kaln watch the human ship, make sure none leave their ship, without our say so" He watched the male and female Keryon nod and disappear into the forest.
"The rest of you, I'll see tomorrow" He said, before disappearing into the high trees, using the branches as a guide to get home.

Draven nodded,"It would be a pleasure, you should be educated on our people if you are going to be here" He said with a small nod. His tail flicked as he heard Kayden, "I am called Draven, my friend, Kayden, is the Prince of this planet, his brother is our leader, Kayden is also our military leader" He glanced up, seeing a streak of silver as the prince disappeared.
"Your people have gone to their ship, and mine are dismissed, I can escort you back, or would you prefer to make your way on your own?" He asked curiously.

Zara smiled and said, "Nice to meet you," again before adding, "and I think I'm alright on my own, I can see the field from here, but thanks for the offer!" She smiled again and waved 'bye' before turning around. This was going rather well for her, even though she had this terrible feeling the pit of her stomach. She wasn't quite sure what it was, but something was bothering immensely. Maybe it was something to do with the arrangement, or it could have been the fact that she had to even go back to the ship. She wasn't looking forward to that.

She took a few careful steps away, hoping not to disturb anything. She looked at the ship distantly, almost wishing it would just disappear if she thought hard enough. She laughed at herself, getting somewhat nervous of her surroundings. She thought she had seen something move in a distant shrub-looking thing, and she didn't know what to make of it. She slowly grabbed the pistol that was sitting on her left hip, and pointed in the direction of the shrub. She continued walking towards the ship slowly, but keeping her eye over there. She wasn't sure what kind of things lived here, and didn't want to have an experience like Russel had had.

Draven nodded, "See you" He replied, before turning and disappearing into the underbrush. Like Kayden, he used the tree-top system to get home, since it was easiest.

The city, Kern, was situated amongst the forest, completely hidden in plain sight. the city itself, was made to blend in with the trees, the buildings being the trees, just carved out on the inside, the streets being paths, vehicles did exist, they were something similar to a flying car, though much more advanced (Like the flyers in star wars), and the inhabitants used them rarely.

Kayden sighed, his meeting with his elder bother yesterday had been an ordeal, Koryn just couldn't comprehend his anxiety over the humans, and now today, in a few hours, he'd be going to their ship, with his brother and a few choice men, to talk.

He stretched out, feeling remarkably comfortable in his large, suspended bed. Kayden's tree house was much like the rest of the buildings, with his house incoroprated directly into the tree. His bedroom itself was a masterpeice, high-tech, yet ridden with natural beauty from the jungle. He had a large waterfall he used for a shower, and large comfortable branches ran about the room, his bed being suspended high in the air between two of these branches. He had a TV and entertainment center, but it was almost impossible to see, until turned on. He also had a washroom which was connected, with a proper shower, and other such necessities.

He yawned, slipping free of the bed, carefully hopping down, very cat-like, and immediately went to the washroom, before showering brusquely. The waterfall was great, but he was far to tense to use it.
Cleaning up, he went out to the kitchen, which was much like the rest of the house, and fixed himself a quick meal, before retreating to his couch, turning on the TV, and watching the news while he ate.

Zara had safetly made it back to the ship the night before, only to face a sleep-less night. She kept playing conversations back in her head, shocked at everything that was going on. She had been laying in her cot for something like 10 hours now, debating what to do next. She was just surprised she hadn't been yelled at by someone yet.

She sighed rolling over lazily, looking around. This room was her home, and it had been for a month, but she still didn't feel that way about it. It felt cold. The walls were completely metal, there was one small window viewing the outside (much like a submarine), and a red curtain covering that window. She had tried to make it more of her own, putting in some posters of movies she loved, and adding a few of her personal items like instruments, but it still wasn't home. It felt more like a metal trap she had been coaxed into.

She stood up quickly leaving the room. She knew that there would be a meeting soon with the natvies. That should be interesting, well at least she thought. She was just surprised that they hadn't heard anything about speaking with their king. They would need to talk to their leader to confirm the plans. She felt a little weird about all of this as well. They had made some deals, but they seemed shady and mistrustful to her. She just wanted to come to learn about a new planet, not potentially attack it.

Kayden, Draven and King Koryn walked at the head of a small group of armed Keryons. The party made it's way slowly, yet comfortably through the underbrush of the jungle as they approached the human ship. Ears flicking, the three cat-men paused, observing the large object which looked so out of place in their jungle home.
"Odd" Draven muttered, the most talkative of the group. Kayden smirked, though his twitching tail warned of his nerves and volatile temper.
"If they are here to help, we may have to put up with more of this" Koryn, Kayden's elder brother murmured, before they continued their advance towards the ship.

Shaking his head, silver fur rippling in the light breeze, Kayden glanced around as the door of the ship opened.
"We're not going in?" He asked, speaking in his native tounge.
"It seems we are" Koryn responded dryly, catching Kayden's eye, Draven gave a subtle hand signal, sending the rest of their group away, having them surround and watch the ship in case things went bad.

Stepping inside, all three men winced, the scent of metal was overpowering, and the entire contraption was loud, and weird. Kayden felt extremely uncomfortable, feeling the false floor beneath his bare paws, he almost bolted back outside. Shuddering, he caught Draven's similar reaction to the ship, only Koryn was truely able to mask his disgust.

Zara entered the meeting room somewhat slowly; not many people were there. She was even surprised she was invited. She looked around, finding her seat, and sat down slowly. The general was sitting at the head of the table, with a spot for the king at the other head of the table. She assumed humans would sit on one half while the Keryons sat on the other side.

She somewhat glared at the General, not approving of his plans. He hadn't even been nice enough to welcome the king of a different spieces. She shook her head still suspicious of things that were going on. She saw the general wave for someone to go get their guests. She knew they had arrived due to the fact that the loudness of everyone on the ship had somehow hushed down. Zara watched the man leave the room, assuming he was going to greet the Keryons.

The man walked up to the group, staring in awe at them. He then muttered, "This way." He slowly walked over to the conference room, showing them their seats.

Kayden's ears flattened as someone came to fetch them, this was rude, not to see be invited by the leader of this ship. He flashed his brother a look, shaking his head in annoaynce. Koryn frowned, catching the look Kayden shot him, so this wasn't the general? He frowled, before stalking after the man, Kayden and Draven on his heels.

Sweeping dangerous silver eyes over the meeting table, Kayden pointedly ignored the chair offered, and opted to lean ominiously against the wall. He glared at any human stupid enough to get close enough to the danger male. Draven sat down next to Koryn, sweeping his own brown eyes over the table, smiling softly as he saw Zara, though he kept his greeting restrained, he had a feeling that this meeting wouldn't end all that well.

"Well..." Koryn muttered, shaking his head in mild annoyance.
"If I knew it was going to be so inconvient to get your help, I would never have bothered to send that signal" Keryons' were notorious for their brutal honesty, and the King was no exception, especially after his rude treatment earlier.
