Zero stood, setting his book to the side. "I was wondering the same thing." He said, going into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him, and starting the water for the shower.

Andy smiled at Keith. She leaned forward and kissed Keith's cheek gently.

Shaye frowned, what was that supposed to mean? Shaking her head, she curled up in the bed, staring aimlessly at her laptop.

Keith smiled as Andy kissed him, yawning and curling up in the blankets, beginning to drift off.

Zero shut the shower door behind him, shaking out his hair as he began to wash it.

Andy smiled and sat down int the chair next to the bed.

Shaye stood up, walking into the closet and pulling out the package, opening it, she grabbed the object inside, and headed outside.

Zero heard Shaye open the package. He shook his head slowly as she left the room. He sighed and continued his shower.

Wandering outside, Sara sat down on the hood of her car, looking over the object in her hands. Tears began to spill down her cheeks, up until this point, she hadn't know what it was, but now.. She shook her head, scrubbing away the tears anxiously, before returning her gaze to the object.

Zero heard the crying. He sighed, shaking his hair as he got out of the shower. He pulled on jeans and a teeshirt, towel drying his hair as he walked down the stairs. He passed the still worried, wide-awake Andy and the sleeping Keith and went into the front yard. "What are you trying to do with this?" he asked, taking the object from Shaye. "Remember? Forget?" He asked, looking at the object.

"Forget, but I'll never be able to" Shaye said, nodding at the object, which was a rolled up, thick leather belt, stained with silver in some places.
"I can't believe they found me" She said, tears beginning to run down her face again.

Zero growled. "Then why torture yourself. You're never going to forget your past and you should know that by now. I can tell you everything that has happened to me in the past more than 2000 years." He sighed. "And why worry. You have three very strong, capable vampires to protect you. Plus a vampiric soulmate, I seen no sign for worry."

"I don't know Zero" Shaye growled, looking away from him, trying to mask her fear and anger.
"I just thought I was done with them, with that part of my life, and here it is, slapping me in the face" She sighed, "How long before they show up on my doorstep? Show up and try to make me go home?" She muttered, wiping away her tears.

Zero looked at her. "You're eighteen. This is home. You're an adult. You're grown." He said, throwing the belt away into the trash can outside the garage.

Shaye sighed, "Logically Zero, I know that, I really do know that" She said softly. "But illogically, I'm terrified, I can't explain it" She said softly. She rubbed her eyes, wishing he'd hug her or something.

Zero sighed, shaking his head as he sat down near her on the hood.

Shaye sighed, "I dunno how to describe it Zero, I know you guys will always be around to protect me, you most of all, but I'm still freaked. I mean, these people are the very reason my life is so messed up, and now they're messing with me some more?" She sighed, rubbing her eyes and looking at him dejectedly, before, hesitently curling up in his lap.

Zero nodded but remained silent. He wrapped his arms around her.

Shaye buried her face against his chest, a small sigh escaping her.
"I'm sorry" She said gently, "I know I'm being ridiculous and immature" She said softly, her voice muffled by his chest.

Zero gently stroked her hair, kissing her head gently.

Shaye sighed softly, feeling beyond safe and relieved to be in his arms.
"Thanks" She said softly, before going silent, just enjoying the security that Zero offered.

Zero smiled tightly and nodded.

Shaye could feel how tense he was and glanced up, "Zero, whats wrong?" She asked softly, rubbing her eyes and frowning.

Zero shook his head. "Nothing."

Shaye shook her head, "Zero, I can tell something's not right" Shaye said softly, "Are you okay? Or am I just being overly paranoid?"

Zero looked at her. "I'm fine," he said with a slight laugh in his voice. "You're just paranoid."

"Well someone has to be" She said, shifting a bit, so she could look at him better.
"Come on, I'm done brooding" She said, sliding off of him and the car.
"Let's go do something, take the dogs for a walk or something?" She asked, smiling lightly.

Zero slid off of the car after Shaye, holding the door open for her and closing it behind them.
