| Selena screamed and didn't know what to do. She had nowhere to run. If she tried to run she would have to make it across the river and Alex said he would hold her under if she tried that again. Is this an exception to what he said? Would he be ok with it if I tried to run again? If I tried to cross the river? She thought, turning around and readying herself to run. | |

| Selena smiled. So Alex would let her run, just not from him. She sprinted back to where the river was and this time instead of timidly walking in, she dove right into it. She felt the current taking her downstream, but instead of fighting it, she took a deep breathe and went under, not struggling to get back up, she grabbed at plants growing on the bottom of the river, pulling at them and using them to make her way accross. | |

| Selena made it to the other side of the river and stuck her head above the water, gasping for air. She climbed out on the side she was on, which was a lot steeper than the side she went in at. She wrapped Alex's cloak around her again, it was now wet. And she ran. | |

| Alex tried desperately to get across the river, but he couldn't go forward from where he was, at the edge of the river. The demon was quickly approachnig him. | |

| Selena turned around and continued to run in the direction she had been runnning before she decided to see what became of Alex. She ran as fast as she could, her dress tore even more and now it was more like a minidress. | |
