Brutas nodded. She once again smacked Kalisthander as he crept towards the meat. "Now, Kalisthander, what do you have to say for yourself?", she asked. "I was hungry...."

Akalia snorted, and it wasn't a scoff. It was more like she was asking to be put down so she could finish eating sort of noise.

"Kalisthander, that food is for Akalia. Your father will bring you osmething soon.", Brutas said, placing Akalia on the ground.

Akalia scampered over to the meat and continued to eat the food. Franarch walked over with a rabbit, the same size as the rat. "Here, there's your food, Kalisthander. Kaina, Cade, could you watch these two while Brute and I hunt?" he asked.

"Do I have permission to punish them if they act up?", Cade asked.

"Just don't abuse them. A simple threat from Kaina will probably do." Franarch answered, glancing at Kaina and hoping she wouldn't go through with the threat until absolutely need-be.

Cade nodded, smiling. Brutas turned to face Cade. "If you harm either of them, I will beat you to within an inch of your life, then bury you up to your neck in rock, and then roast you alive.", she growled.

"Brute, sweetie, do you forget whatever pain you inflict on Cade you also feel?" Franarch asked, then tugged on her. "We've got to go now anyway."

BRutas sighed slightly. "I know, Franny, It's an idle threat.", she whispered

Franarch started to trot away. "I'm going to hunt now."

"I'm coming.",, Brutas said, following Franarch.

Franarch looked around. He head his snout in the air and sniffed. "There seems to be a pack of some thing over there." he said, gesturing with his tail.

Brutas nodded. "Okay."

Franarch stalked toward a tree, hoping for a possible hedgehog.

Alphonse followed the other hunter. "Are you sure there are even dragons existing?" he asked, tapping the shoulder of the person in front of him.
There were often sudden questions such as this, but most of the time he was silent.

"Alphonse, you are an idiot. Would we bee hunting dragons if they weren't real?", Severus responded.

Brutas heard some voices nearby. "Franarch... did you hear that?", she whispered.

Franarch perked his ears, then twitched them. "I don't hear anything." he replied.

"I wanted to be sure YOU knew. I know you're a very intellectual man, but sometimes you make even me wonder." Alphonse said, shifting his sword spear somewhat nervously.

Severus smirked. He smeleld the air. "Dragons...", he said, smiling. He puleld out a huge broadsword, larger than he was. It produced a faint blue glow.

Brutas smeleld the air. "Franarch! I smell dragonsbane!", she whispered, scared.

Franarch inhaled deeply, then his eyes widened. "Hunters. Take to the air, Brute!" he yowled somewhat softly, but not soft enough.

"A voice deep enough to find the bottom of an abyss...There's a male. I hope you know how tough they are to destroy." the black haired hunter noted. He touched a finger to his right eye. "And I lost half my sight to a young male about 15 years ago in this business..." Of course, this was a surprise, because Alphonse had told Severus he had only been in this line of work for only 10 years, although it was truly 25. He was much older tan he looked, since he seemed to be in his young twenties, and barely that.

Severus snarled. His sword transformed into a large spear. As Brutas took the air, he hurle the spear at her. It hit its mark, and she cried out, falling to the ground. "Alphonse, keep the male distracted while I dispense this one!", he said.

Franarch dived to Brutas's side, removing the spear and covering the wound. Scraping out the dirt in a circle around them, he spat out poison bombs in the trench. It was too large to leap over, and the poison was very thick. Then Franarch finished with a poison mist, creating an 'impassable' barrier.

Alphonse looked at the poison barrier. "Are you sure you want to mess with these dragons? I know it's the first in awhile, but he's...vicious. I'll lose more than my eye in a battle such as this." he said, watching Franarch break the spear in a vicious manner, his flaring yellow eyes searching for the hunters.

Severus smiled. "The dragonsbane wil ltake effect soon.", he said, laughing. "SAy, dragon, perhaps you would like to strike a deal? I have a small vial that contains the only amount of antidote to dragonsbane that has ever, and will ever, be created. I will give it to your mate if you come with us. However, if you choose to decline this offer, I shall drop this vial to the ground and crush it.", he said, smirking.

Franarch growled. "It's a hard choice, considering the chicks...Fine, they need a mother more." he said, then inhaled the poison again. "I am true to my word. Let me cure my mate and I'll go with you before she realizes." The dragon's eyes were filled with anger, sadness, and sympathy all at the same time.

Alphonse's eyes widened. "Chicks?..."

Severus smiled slgihtly and tossed the vial to Franarch. He snapped his fingers, and his dragonsbane spear repaired itself and returned to his hand. "Chicks, you say? very interesting..... very intersting indeed...."

Franarch cured Brutas, then stood. He stared longingly at her unconscious face, then sighed. He walked forward and stopped near the hunters, his ears laid back in sadness now. Franarch was just one of those dragon's who once he mated, he was settled for life. Leaving his mate was a nightmare, but it was the only way.

Alphonse glared at Severus, his fierce blue eyes slashing the back of his head. "If you go and try to hunt those chicks, I will find out, and I will kill you personally." he said, his voice gaining the same edge as his eyes. Franrch tilted his head in confusion, wondering why a hunter would stick up for his chicks, even as he, the father, was being taken from their lives, maybe even permanently.

Severus looked over at Alphonse angrily. "Alphonse, there are two things you seem to have forgotten. One, i am your superior, and I have the authroity, and ability, to kill you. And two, we are dragon hunters. We are supposed to hunt dragons.", he said.
