This Mask is Not Me

Keith sighed and rolled his eyes at Iggy. He was tempted to slap him, but he was in the front seat, and he was pretty sure the driver wouldn't tolerate any messing around.

Shaye leaned against Vaix, her eyes on Seth. She was so fed up with his dramatics. He would never understand them, and Vaix was right, he wasn't worth her time.
"Come on, their calling our seats now" Shaye whispered in Vaix's ear, looking at her ticket and smiling. Keith had been cool enough to get them first class, so they wouldn't have to deal with sitting with anyone else.
She stood up, pulling him with her and joined the short cue.

Andy leaned back into her seat and then stared out the window. It suddenly started raining. "Ironic, isn't it?" she mumbled to Lily. Lily "Mmm-hmm"ed and then didn't say anything else. Jay's favorite weather was rainy. Andy sighed and then looked at Iggy. "I'm going to slap you," she growled, suddenly angry.

Keith sighed.
"It's not his fault" He reminded her. "It's his whole emotion thing, he feels the opposite of what we feel. So the anger, pain and misery we're feeling are translating to him as happy and joy and stuff" Keith reminded her.

Andy shuddered. "I know," then her shoulders slumped. "I wish I could be like that."

Keith sighed, and turned as much as the seat belt would allow him.
"I know, sometimes I think it would be so much easier to be like that. But I'd rather deal with my emotions instead of having to deal with other peoples"

Andy nodded and looked at Keith. She smiled sadly and then looked at Lily, whom had fallen asleep. "How she can do that, I'll never know." Andy shook her head.

Vaix followed along behind Shaye as he was tugged along, glancing at his ticket once more as they headed for the plane. Hopefully Seth had no intentions of sitting near them.

Iggy looked at Andy from the corner of his eye, and didn't look elsewhere since he'd heard her slap comment. He listened to them fantasize on his life, and wish for a second they could know. To be honest, it sucked. The people around you controlled what you felt. You had to laugh while another cried in front of you, and you couldn't give any sympathy for them, because you couldn't feel emotional pain unless love was somewhere near you. Or maybe it was the other way around, and someone was having the time of their lives. And you sat there in the corner of a room absolutely suicidal, and no counselor could ever fix it. Only the emotions around you.
For once, since Andy's misery, Iggy's smile disappeared for a second or two. He bit a little harder into his wrist.

"Ig, stop chewing on yourself" Keith muttered, glaring at his friend teasingly in the rearview mirror. He had seen Vaix having to bandage Iggy's wrist on multiple occassions.
"It's not healthy. If you're hungry we can get something at the airport" He lifted an eyebrow and grinned secretvely.

Shaye led the way onto the place, after showing her ticket and passport to the flight attendant.
"Do you want the window?" She asked, pointing at the two seats on her left.
"I don't care either way" She said, smiling.

Andy looked up and couldn't help but chuckle. "I saw that," she said quietly. She smiled and then stared out the windshield again, looking through the rain.

Iggy froze when he was confronted like that by Keith, he didn't pull his fangs away, just looked up at Keith with innocent looking eyes for a while. In his frozen position a drop of blood landed down on Roxa's cheek. It made her stur slightly, but not wake up.
The corners of Iggy's mouth twitched slightly, then he pulled his wrist away. "Fine," he grumbled softly. He was still in eternal bliss, just a little taken back by Keith's actions. He glanced at Andy when she laughed and smiled again, rolling his eyes and looking out the window.

"Sure," Vaix replied politely. He would have been dissapointed if he couldn't have the window seat, after all it was he first time on a plane. He picked a random window seat and looked at Shaye expectedly.

She grinned and slid into the seat next to him. She carefully did up her seat belt and rested her head against the chair. It was gonna be a long flight, and she could already feel her legs cramping up.

Keith sighed.
"Are you really that hungry?" He asked, eyeing the cabbie. He could drive if he needed to, and that way Iggy could feed. He was also hungry, but unlike Iggy he wouldn't feed on himself.

Vaix watched Shaye's expressions rather cluelessly. He looked out the window once, observing the surrounding landscapes, then looked back at Shaye. "You don't seem to excited, what's wronge?"

Iggy looked over at Keith from the corner of his eye. "I'm always hungry," he mumbled back. "But in this case I haven't eaten anything good for the past month. I ate a couple rats, if that counts as anything." He turned his head to look at Keith with a playfull smile.

Shaye smiled a bit.
"I am excited, but it's gonna be a really long flight and I can already feel my legs cramping up" she explained. She loved traveling, but she wasn't a fan of flying. It took forever and she was always sore, really sore, by the end of the flight.

Vaix smiled, "silly girl." He ruffled up her hair playfully, "your a vampire. You can sit still for thousands of years and never cramp up. You body won't give out on you like that anymore." Vaix gave a friendly smile, "just need patients for this flight I suppose."

She laughed.
"That's right, I guess it's just a reaction" She said, leading her head against his shoulder and closing her eyes. She was still exahusted, and the idea of the long flight was making her feel more tired then normal. She smiled and began to chew absentmindedly on her lip.

Vaix just smiled when she leaned against him and looked out the window again. Purring softly as he looked around at the people outside and enjoyed Shaye's company. He closed his eyes eventually and let his head thud limply against the plane wall, falling asleep fromeverything that had happened.

Shaye's eyes opened, she knew she wouldn't be able to really sleep right now. She was still really riled up over her meetting with Seth and the whole drama of it. She sighed and reached into the small pouch in front of her and pulled out a magazine. She began to flip randomly through the pages, ignoring the stares of a few people around her. She sighed, she knew she looked different now that she was a vampire. She sighed, she found it strange that she hadn't yet had an urge to feed, but she didn't.

Vaix just lay limp to one side, he didn't move at all, other than curling his legs up to his chest and stretching out his wings when they started to complain about their cape disguise. One crammed up against the plane wall, while the other just lay in Shaye's lap all fully expanded.

Shaye gasped, and nudged Vaix, not wanting them to get caught, and sadly his wing looked nothing like a blanket.
"Vaix" She whispered in undertone, trying to wake him without startling him. She didn't want him to freak out and have his wings extend into the aisle or something.

Vaix twitched slightly, and opened an eye, though it barely counted as awake seeing as how it rolled back into his head for a second before his hand rose up and rubbed his eyes. Vaix streached, and his wings spread out alittle farther for a second. He looked over at her with sleepy eyes, "hey Shaye." His voice was a mere mummble, "what's wronge?" He took no note of his wings drooping all over the place due to how tired he was. As far as Vaix was conserned, he was comfortable.

"Vaicx, your wings" She said, smiling a little at his tired state. She needed him to be aware enough to make them go away though.
"Everyone can see them" She said, gently moving the one across her lap.

"My wings?" It took Vaix a couple minutes to catch on, then he blinked in surprise and pulled them up against him, "sorry." He gave her a soft smile, "I'm not really to sure what to do with them." He let them both pull in and lay on his lap, but it didn't matter what he did really, they still looked like wings. And they still looked far to real to be anything fake. He frowned, and glanced at Shaye.

"I dunno" She shrugged apologetically. She leaned against him, sheilding the wings a bit with her body.
"So how does this work?" She asked, shifting a bit. She wasn't sure how long she could handle sitting like this, but she figured that she could handle it for him. She didn't remember how the wings had appeared in the first place, but she guessed he couldn't just make them go away.

"How does what work?" Vaix asked watching her lean up against him, "my whole demonic matter you mean?" He hesitated, then leaned his head on hers. "It's not hard, to explain. I get really mad or protective, I change. And I can't change back until the threat leaves, until I think you're safe from Seth, in other words." He frowned, "at this rate though, I doubt I'll ever change back."

"No, but thanks for the explination" She said, laughing a little.
"I mean, the way I'm sitting, will it sheilded your wings?" She asked, smiling a bit.
"Or I suppose I could pretend that they're my blanket" She said shruggig a little and smiling at him. She really didn't know what else to do, seeing as the threat of Seth probably wouod be around for awhile.
